Not low enough....?

Its time I lower my car and I cant find springs low enough to get the hieght I want.

Should I buy the springs and cut them, or just cut my factory springs and get the rubber sleeves around them? Bags are way to cliche for me, I allready thought about it...I got 20's with 245/20 toyo t1R's...thought about stretching tires but I just got these tires so that will be the next time I need new ones.

How about coils?

Cant find any for my car....there isnt much at all.

They say my factory suspension is great but its not completly addjustable.

sprint springs make a set for the LS.

from what people who have installed them say is that once they settle they equal out to a 2" drop. dont know how low you were looking for but the sprint springs offer the lowest drop out of all the ones available for the ls.

I was looking for a bit more after pulling and rolling but I think I might try them out. if they arent enough Im going to just cut them I guess.

to get the lowness you want, since nobody really makes coilover applications for your car, get the air suspension setup. it's not cliche, it's just another way to lower your car. it will get you low, and parked lower.

HEY you calling me cliche???? J/k.:thumbsup: ...well I just dont see good stuff around my way with it. I see beatup  primered pickups and such...I have thought about it in a intense way cause my wheels got stollen wich is a big thing around here and I thought it would be a great security system...... either way I just aint ready for em yet...I will try them down the road I guess. I dont want to screw things up this early in my investment.  Springs are way cheaper to replace if I get them wrong or have a misshap after they are on. I wouldnt care about the money if I wasnt still learning.

One said to rhino line it and one said to leave them in....I allready removed them cause I was getting a bit of rubb up front when turning in reverse.....you know backing out and turning from a parking space.

I aint going anywhere cause winter here sucks, theres roadsalt and shit everywhere and its still wet.

If you're willing to learn... then try everything. Cut your stock springs and ride on your stock shocks/struts till they blow. Cut a coil at a time, removing an extra one or half coil ever week or so. Then you will learn the limits of your suspension. Then look into upgrades, etc...

you've already done all you need to do with them.  simply remove them.  IF you have bare metal under the liner, then yes paint, rhino coat, etc.  Just don't leave it bare.  Although I've never seen a production vehicle that was bare metal under the fender liner.  Under bodies are always coated.

Good ideas for tuning on a budget.  Try to find someone who makes direct replacement lowering springs for your car.  Hopefully they will come in varied weights.  If they are progressive, cutting them will increase the amount of load required to compress them, so start with a very low spring rate with the anticipation of shortening.  Look around at other popular lincoln cars that may share similar spring height/design.

If all else fails, its not hard to do an air setup on a low budget...  or a cheaper route would be finding a universal (mounts >not< damp/spring rate) coilover setup that you can adapt to your vehicle with custom mounts.
