q45 projector problems

the other night, I heard a weird noise. Almost like the auto tilt mirror tilting down when it clicks to much when it was already pointed downward. But it was the headlights! The turn nob for angle was on its zero setting still but the headlights were aimed down in the (what be lowest aimed position it could go in) but if you turn the knob to aim down they go further down.

Did anyone else have this problem of the lamps just going wacky? Thankfully its 4 bolts on this bumper to take it off to adjust headlights. but such a pain. 

Totally adding this in, but i need overall dia of projector lens, and inner part where it steps up and the chrome ring locks into since its stepped lip lol in a sense I need these measurements to make the custom lens's any help appreciated from those who have theirs out already

Are you using a bracket?

I had the same problem, all of a sudden one of my light aimed down one day and I tried to raise it but it wouldn't go any higher.  Figured out my auto-level popped off.

a bracket? no? its all oem. its on my F50.

Didn't know, auto level sensor is off? If you have one.  If not then I dunno.

i have a extra set opened up already. So you want the size of the actual projector?
i measured 4.5" across

yeah just the glass its self. And what is the inner dia of that metal ring that snaps on? cause thats the step lip they have to grind when they do a custom lens

Early F50 didn't have auto level, just the driver controllable 4 position switch.

the actuator has probably taken a doodoo

stupid actuator.

So I took off the headlights adjusted them. Drove that way for a couple days and went over a hard bump and they dropped again.:signdammit::pat: I think its the actuator like you said Lowley is weak and cant keep it up. Time to get viagra haha
