Another Sentia HD Build

So I picked up my '92 929 a few months ago to be my daily from a friend. He had already done the suspension mods but had pretty much stopped there. He had alot of plans for it, but couldnt give it the attention it required.

So Far, Current Mods:
JDM Version Engine (Original blew and it was cheapest motor buddy could find)
Front: JIC SF-1 Coilovers
Rear: Modified 3000GT Bilstein Coilovers
low beam 6K HIDs
Fog 3K HIDs
Pioneer AVIC D3 
20% Tint
DIY Grille Mod

Wheels: Work Euroline MH 18x9+20 18x10+25 5/4x114.3

Current Plans for the car:

Body Kit - I have 3/4 of a body kit here and ready to go, but my front bumper is at a friends warehouse in Japan. Since business is so slow he has no current plans for any containers to be brought over so I'm stuck without my bumper. If anyone knows how i can bring it over at a reasonable price, please let me know. Last I talked to him and he said it would be over $1300 just to ship the bumper. I'm willing to pay like $400-$500

Found Some Crystal Clear Headlights on Yahoo Japan I'd like to get.

The car had JIC SF-1 Coils all around, however shortly after installing them the rears blew out (they were used). So my buddy (the original owner) worked with another friend who is a mechanical engineer and suspension guru to figure out a solution. Those coils are uber rare here in the states and getting them rebuilt is nearly impossible. So after weeks of research, they found that the rear suspension on a 3000GT is almost the same. The suspension pro being a fan and having experience customizing Bilsteins went with them. In the end they said all they had to do was make a sleeve for the bottom of the suspension hole because its bigger on a 3000GT. I'll give my friend a call when I get a chance to see what year and base model 3000GT to look for, and next time I take a rear wheel off I'll snap some pics for ya.

oh yep i got it, pretty much the same situation as if i wanted to run  fd3s coils on mine, all is needed is revalve and replace and eyelet on rear shocks... but since its your mate whos done it, i can only assume it was completely different sort of money:)
i still havent figured out which way i want to go suspension wise. need another 30mm drop, but custom coilovers are about as much as air.but i want to be static.

i used to have an HD aswell, got stolen, brought and HE, sold that one and got the green one i have now.

hit up one of our vendors here..they bring things over containers often..im sure for a reasonable fee they can ship your bumper over...

So I found out that actually what was done for my rear suspension was. They took Bilstein 3000GT shocks and turned them into coilovers.

yeah that sleeve was added. I assume its been welded but I have to talk to the dude that actually did the work to find out.

Nice work on the rear coilovers!  Gotta get creative with the 929.   Your stance is way nicer than my red one was on king springs.

I think mine was repainted because the whole car was body color instead of two tone.

i remember your HD. those shallens suited it well:)

So I was finally able to get a hold of a bumper and have it shipped over from, but they had to cut it in half to save on shipping.

A little fiberglass work and i should be back in business. Unless you know someone in the philly area that can do it. I'll probably go for a factory respray for now.

Thats a pretty sweet lil ride there! If there were available coilovers I could see this being a decent cheap DD. There are 2 on my local CL for $1500

Yeah I dropped off the car yesterday for paint. Getting the dents fixed and respraying the car and kit.

Im excited man,  been awhile since i have had my 929.  Glad to see people have picked up the platform more.  I just picked up another last week.  I had a set of the clear headlights...should have never sold them!

Its just getting the factory color. Unfortunately i have to get rid of the 2 tone. the new front bumper doesn't have the diving body line for it.

I want a set of the clear lights so bad! like the ones from garage evergreen that i see on yahoo japan.

Its not the Sarona kit. Its the Admiration Kit, with a modified Stage Jack front bumper. 

I do want to change the wheels, but i have so many other things i want to finish first that wheels are on hold at the moment. I'm currently prepping for air ride.

Are those stock headlights?

Yeah they are. I just cleaned them up with the 3m restoration kit. I wanna get the evergreen garage clear headlights but that'll come later.

As low as the vws are it has to be!  But no were is low friendly.  We will be in nyc,philly,baltimore etc all weekend.  Would like to get up with you and check it out in person and get some pics,  pm me if you decide to come out
