custom *air ride* trunk setups
saw a couple old threads (4-5 years old) with the majority of pix not working anymore, but figured i'd try to get a new thread with up to date pix of everyone's trunk setups.....not stereo since we have a thread for that....so for the air ride setups. so what do we have???

Not really. The gas tank and a huge emissions canister is directly being the subs. I had to use shallow 12's in order to retain some useable trunk space. I wanted to do 2 ported 10's but couldn't get a big enough box to fit.

Its real and with the 1/4" underlayment, I would say that it's about 1/2-5/8" thick. It's very solid and stable.

here's a couple i've done. these are really just basic installs, no one has paid for anything fancier, but i just try to keep it clean, functional, and easy to maintain. the wiring is where i really try to shine, but i'm getting more comfortable with wood working as i get more experience.

The sheet metal in the TL in that area is very weak. Plus the trunk springs may be in the way.

Negative....never had an issue even driving down to Miami Beach. The tank sat behind the re-bar so it did not take up anymore air space than the stock stuff.

These are insane! But I need to get ideas for my up-coming setup. For financial reasons I was going to just go for a clean and simple mount up for the GS300, But I really really like the wood flooring in the trunk.... Thought about doing the spare tire hideaway setup but I am terrified of not having a spare in case of emergencies LOL :pat:

I purchased Schnitz's car in November, heres how his finished work turned out:
I will be making the center section flip open so you have easy access tot he tank drain and compressors. THe hinges will be hidden behind the side amp covers which are removable, to keep it clean, yet very functional! As well I will be hiding the air hose in there. Love the space it has! The car is one of my dailys.

Thought i'd add to it. Its not as perfect and neat as a lot of them here. I did it myself out of my garage for about a month though, with no experience, just an idea in my head. Still trying to add some things to it, but its just about done for the time being.
