Barry's Nissan Cima Y33

Hello. 

I'm Barry, 32 years old and from the Netherlands

I've bought a month ago a Nissan Cima Y33 from 1998 with 64.500km on it,
bought it from a guy that had it imported from Japan a couple of months ago.

I know it's the first Cima in the Netherlands, and probably a handful in Europe. so to get parts for it, is a crime.

we got screwed on all the good shit in the states (the Nav/radio/climate control)
looks way better than the wack bose setup we got stock....plus the location is dope.....i have to look down at my aftermarket screen
 
 
 
and you have a digital dash to boot!!!

The only thing is, it's all japanese. and my japanese is as good as my chinese.:runcoold:

Nav. doesn't work here, radio freq. are not good 76 to 90 mhz. 
cd changer doesn't work, i don't have tapes , so cassette player i don't need.


so i'm searching for the Q45 dash bezel en a/c unit. so i can install my kenwood dvd/tft and the headrest tft's for the kids.

Welcome, it's always nice to get more European VIPsters aboard =)

You should be able to get a beatsonic adapter or some other frequency expander that would help with your OEM radio. But if it was me I'd just toss that out and get an Alpine head unit...

and it's great looking, when you look @ it. in real life, it's got some depth in it
the only thing is, the max. speed is 180km/h. so the extra 90 km/h you can't see.

it's time again to go to germany, and go fast on the autobahn, a lot of highway, doesnt have speed limit, so you can go 250+ km/h on it :runcoold::runcoold::runcoold:

Don't know if the Q45 has this, but yesterday evening,  something caught my eye

The cima Logo's are Glow in the dark, never seen this on any other car, but i like it a lot!!!!, with a flashlight powered up the glow, to take a picture ;)

A little update from the netherlands

From a friend of me, ive bought some 20" infiniti wheels, there not wat i want, but a whole lot better than the 17" wheels. so the search will go on for some wheels i really like

meanwhile i wanted to lower the car, so ordered a BC Racing coiloverset for the Q45, took 2 months to get made and shipped to the netherlands.
had to weld the front, so that was a lot of work, bet the result looks very nice, lowered the car about 8/9 cm (3,5"?)

also got a 4" blox air filter and mouted it, the sound is very nice, full throttle it sounds like a race car :giggity:

end of july i will get some work done to the exhaust, probably remove the back silencer and get some nice tips.

also removed the orange side blinkers and swapped them for a set clear blinkers from a nissan almera n16 (direct fit)

in the free time, i'm now working on the audio in the cima, luckely the original unit, has got some rca inputs, so mounted a dvd player and digitaltelevision with 35 channels and digital radio
also got a JBL ms-8 processor for the audio.

a quick list whats in the car when i will be done.
digital tv (digitenne) will give perfect video up to 180km/h (115 mph)
dvd player
iphone docking station

front and rear audio system X-ion compo set
2x exact en65 centerspeakers in the center vents
RF P3D212 subwoofer in the spare wheel compartment
Lightning audio 1000w rms monoblock
2x jbl p80.4 amp

The audio in the trunk is almost ready, then the finetuning can begin. but the most work is to get the 2x4mm2 cable to the door rubbers.

^^ at least its functional... nice build so far

storage containers = new bike rack LOL. at least it has a practical use though.

a little update

Got the rainvisors from Climair on the Cima, sprayed the front bumper, because there was soem damage from the first owner en lowered the car another 2 cm's at the front.
Sprayed the Wheels a new color, its dark grey/ black, but in the sun, the color changes to gold.

Before, bolt on coilovers were hard to find for y33's. You would have to cut your stock spindle and weld it on to the coilover before installing it. Now days, there's some brands that make coilovers for y33's w/ the spindle. As for height, you can still raise/lower the car. It's just the spindle was welded on. Hope that answers your question

Tire's are 245-30/20, but best is to go à Size higher,

so, now on the pc, so it's easier to type.

had to weld the coilovers to the spindle, BC Racing makes them also with spindle, but they cost about 450 dollar more. so welding is easier and cheaper

The original AC control and radio unit, are difficult to replace with a Q45 AC control and Double din unit, ordered everything from ebay, so i could check if it was possible, and after removing the original radio and fit the Q45 stuff, i came to the conclusion that it's not an easy fit, because the metal to fit the double din unit on, is different, so that has to be replaced to, and then the hardest thing, te AC control, because the cima is partially using some kind of can bus, after 3 hours of puzzling , i gave up. so now i have a double din unit in the middle vent units.

Also ordered a couple of new rotors from the usa, it's nice living in europe an dhave a cima, but there is 0 to get for the car, even simple items i have to order from far far away.

this week the Rear silncer is going to be removed, and two 76mm diameter  and 60cm long tail pipes are going to be weld on to the exhaust, hoping the exhaust noise of the V8 is getting louder.

2 weeks a go, i got the car on 75.000 km's (47.000 miles)

They are really perfect, front is now lowered  almost 5" and still drives really good and comfortable,
