it's bc, if they don't go low enough order custom specs. i just need to get a set installed for baseline.

these are not oem spindles from what i understand, they are bc made. apparently the ae86 coils are similar (bc made spindles) and they have had no issues with them.

how low they'll go really isn't an issue, it's just a matter of figuring out what changes need to be made from the out-the-box dimensions. bc has no issue with me ordering silly damper lengths, custom spring rates, etc. looks like i should have a set installed locally within a month or so.

Will the fronts work on a F50? If so, I read all I need to get the rears to fit would be 97-01 prelude lower rear cups. Also do you reccomend any custom rates for the heavier F50 for a comfortable ride?

I'm sure it could be made to work, although having the spindle may complicate things in this case. the non spindle y33 coilovers work but because you retain the oem spindle the brake/tie rod/lbj/etc. aren't an issue. you would need to compare y33 spindles to f50 spindlles to make a decision. for the rears i would just run z chassis true coils.

i've rode everything from 8-18k on these cars and honestly, using a quality coilover, you won't see a lot of variation ride quality wise. at least i don't. i usually justt get a feel for what the customer intends to do ride height wise and ballpark it from there.

$1k shipped. if they don't go low enough we can custom order them to go lower. but yeah, they'll get you low for sure.

IN!

I'll wait on the photos of when you get them installed (make sure you max em out for me) and then I'll probably buy.

Knowing BC they WILL go low enough. I've never installed a set of their coils that didn't slam the car.

Higher, but I'm not sure where it maxes out. I order 18k regularly. There's also going to be the issue of how short you can get in what rate if you want to do short dampers. Just LMK what you're looking for and I'll see what I can do.

extreme drop is really just a standardized custom spec. the pic posted was the equivalent of an extreme drop kit. without it, the car would max out .75-1" higher. it's really not as extreme as they'd you believe. i'm working with bc to see exactly how far we can go with it.

Hmm.. The fronts are more what I'm after as I really don't want to hack up my stock struts/spindles. Going to have to check into what all needs to be done to the rears.

yes. bc racing na does not stock them yet so all orders come straight from taiwan. just as well though, they should be custom spec'd anyway imo.

Hmm.. Not sure if I'm willing to take the chance of them not working.

I know you're in Houston, if I order some can I send them to you for welding? I know there are places around here that can do it, but I'd feel more comfortable with someone who has experience with them.

you'd be better off taking them to local shop, or driving to houston, so that the car can be on hand for fitting. where you cut will affect the ride height and i don't have a baseline measurement to work with.

What spring rates have you seen ordered? Any recommendations? Not looking to go too low just want a nice sporty but smooth ride.

The only set I've received is the 14/12 posted. I have recently ordered another 14/12 with a shorter damper for a conservative static setup locally, as well as a 16/12 short damper setup for a customer from VSC. No feedback yet though. Honestly I use the same couple spec sets, depending on your goals, accross all platforms unless the customer requests otherwise. Haven't had any complaints yet.

it does matter because if you valve it too high it won't be matched to the bag, which will most likely have a lower effective spring rate. there's really no conversion to help get a specific number because spring rate and psi are different types of measurements, but what i do is run a low to mid teen rate. the ones on the first page are 14/12 and will be getting the uas treatment.

i'm bound by map/msrp on both lines (i already sell at the lowest authorized price). some vendors chose to ignore this, however i believe in maintaining the value of the product even if it costs me a sale here and there. both will come directly from the manufacturer and both will ship directly to you. the battle version parts will drop ship, the bc coilovers will be a special order from taiwan,

the spring rate does not affect the warranty but anything shorter than -40mm damper will void the warranty. if you order 16/14 without shortening the damper approriately the car will sit higher at it's lowest setting.

Would just like to post to take a second to say
I support OG and thanks man for the patience months previous.
My -80/-90mm 18/16 setup is great. I love it.
If anyone wants to know how low the 80/90 setup goes, let me put it this way... If the fronts -80mm were maxed out (on 19's or 20 inch wheels) (oil pan would be roughly 3.5 inches off the ground) you wouldn't be able to to turn and clear the fender without body work.

If you were to attempt to max out the rear -90mm, the FRAME would be on the ground before it runs out of threading.

I am saying this from personal/first hand experience.

Given that this is a vendor thread I am Not trying to jack the thread OG (sorry if this does and please delete if you see fit) but I thought maybe I could post this as a reference or atleast some useful information for someone/anyone wanting to know how low they can get on the 80/90 setup.

Here is interesting question...since the Y33 front spindle fits a Y34, would my from Y34 with welded spindle work on a Y33 front suspension? And does my rear 350z setup from my Y34 match to fit a rear on a y33?

I ask...because I might trade for a Y33 and it would be easier to swap suspension than it would be to source stock Y34 parts locally (quickly)

Edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. Just remembered my Y34 rear is a separate strut spring combo...Assuming this won't work.

it's the damper length, not the spring rate, that voids the warranty. i haven't had a single set of bc, custom or stock spec, come back on warranty if that makes you feel any better.
