How To VIP 325I?

Well I just bought this car a month ago. Its an 2001 325I. Ill post pics later its all stock. So really doesnt matter. 

My question is, where do I start. I know some of you think you cant because 325I arent considered VIP. Only M3s M5s and all other top of the line BMWs are considered VIP. Im thinking of buying the fenders and making mine look like an M3.

But thats down the line.

I need something now. Any sugguestions on rims? HID kits? Body Kits?

Any info would be great. Thanks.

Like most of us say time and time again, the key is stance... because of the type of car you have it will not be "VIP" but you can make it VIP style. Look into getting some nice rices and and make them fit right with the car as low as possible. 

If you do those things you will be ahead of the game.

Before you start with body kits, start with lowering it...to the ground. Then get some wheels with tits fitment. Only then, should you think about aero. HID's for me is the last thing i'd do.

OG EuroVIP where it actually began, we must remember that the first VIP vehicles were Mercedes in Japan... taking from that cue you can try and go for a more Euro look bodywise, and on the wheels nadreams and swifty pwned that response sick already! I have a 99 M3, when I bought it I was in the same stage as you, what should I do? What should I get? 

I recomend you do some research on the car. SiknLow made a good point. You should go OG with it. Look into a set of AC Schnitzers, or maybe even a set of BBS. 

The M3 naturally came with camber. So I didnt need to put so much money into acheiving the stance. Im dropped on H&R's right now, with 18 x 8 Kelleners. I will try to post some pics of it when I can, so you get an Idea of the stance it has.

you could actually be different and NOT put AC Schnitzers on a BMW. They are soo played out even in UK, that and Alpina's.

First thing I would do is color match all your door and bumper moldings.

I wouldnt be buying M3 fenders "to make it look like an M3" because it quite obviously has too many doors to be an M3. 
 
The thing with the 3-series is that it will always look sporty. It would take alot of effort to avoid the "euro-sport" look which those pics above seem to exude (though thats not necessarily a bad look, its just not the same as vip). One thing that would help (i think), is to have it impossibly low. Being a smaller car, you can probably run 18s and slam it until the fender nearly touches the lip (i.e. an inch lower than that black one at least)

color match the mouldings and flare the fenders... lower it with something better than H&R race kit... hahaa
and then get the most extreme offset wheels you can fit in your flared fender wells... and then get 20mm spacers.:smiley: :smiley: :smiley: 
my girlfriend has an o4 black one which is the same body wise.
and i put H&R on it... it looked nice... but then got some JIC FLTA2s and it has a much nicer stance you can realllllly dump it. 
i test fitted some 5x114.3 18x10.5 +35 offset wheels ( which is possible due to the lug stud not lug nut design on BMW. i just put rods in the stud holes so it would stay on) 
and thats the size i would suggest going with. if you flare the fenders. any lower offset and it will rub inside the fender well in the back. it had about 3mm clearance or less. and the wheels stuck out about one inch from the non flared fenders. but a lil bit of camber would clear that with a simple fender roll.

they are right. the most important part of VIP style is stance and fitment.

your lucky you have the sad eye front end... its super easy to retrofit the m3 front clip on ( bumper lights fenders hood.)
you need all of those in order to run any of those parts. the hood is wider than yours. the fenders dont line up with your bumper and the bumper is wider than your fenders... quite flared. GOOD LUCK!!
WALD makes some nice wheels for BMW 5x120:drool:

i would slam it like this using air , then get some deep dish wheels ...

again this was a very quick shop (and lousy pic to use) but gives an idea..
and colormatch the moldings or better clean them ..
i also got rid of the orange blinkers , they can easaly be replaced by oem white ones :)

Took the words out of my mouth. Only BMW that has ever gotten any sort of attention from vip-euro enthusiast in Japan (and it hasn't been much) is the 7 series (and actually sometimes the 8 series). That being said, you could make a really nice looking 3 series, but I don't think I would adhere to the laws of vip styling. Its a smaller car, it wouldn't suit it well. Solo's IS pulls it off, but I dont think your down for modifications that extensive.

Well from what I have seen and experienced, there has always been a really big conflict with Euro cars rockn Japanese parts ....

As far as Iam concerned I believe it is all about personal preference. If I was to do a 325 I would start off w/ some dish or maybe a Work Euroline SL ...
suspension, HID head light fog light, led clear and red rear tail lights, then start thinking about doing the body...

i say do it VIP or not... before i do!
and i agree with the e90 comment, they seem much larger than the old 3's

ahhh blackline taillights...  i need to pick up a set of those.. hehe... i went from having wheels with almost 5 inch of lip to wheels with no lip at all hehe  still nice though :thumbsup:

i don't think i would even bother going for any kind of vip 'style' with a 3 series.  it's just about an impossibility.  one of my closest friends is a bimmer enthusiast (despite previously owning a cedric in japan) and has resparked his vip bug again.  he's considering an older 7 series and i think that's about as close as you can possibly get.  even then, it's a far cry.  a 3 series is just too much of a sportscar in any trim level.  i'd go the route of letting it truley shine where it should, as apposed to doing rediculously heavy wheels and installing bags to ruin the hell out of the suspension system meticulously built around performance.

I wouldnt call doing up a 3 series VIP style as much as Euro style ...

I would agree.. VIP should be big cars unless they are an older model car like the one up above. Since the style started back before the japanese started making bigger cars, some smaller cars are able to pull off the classic vip style look. The K-cars and such are more of a branch off of the vip style with the expanding market. The modern 3 series really looks too sporty in my opinion.. the lines are too round and it is not long enough to create the gangster look. Not that it wont look good either way, it will be very hard to creat the same look with the modern 3 series. I feel very different about the 5, 6 and 7 though.

You could get a factory M3 4 dr. sedan.
