My 1999 Q45 Build!

Sup Yall, I've had my Q for bout 10 months now and ive been waiting to mod it...now the madness has begun! Started by replacing usual stuff hood shock...maintence and all...but the aftermarket stuff are all on now and more things to come!

like i said just dropped it off to set the camber properly and have it sitting right on top of the fender and...hopefully abousolutely no rub! the way it sits now no rub and rides beautiful but we'll see as soon as i get it back to see if i need to adjust ride comfort!

Car looks good man, not digging the color of the wheels but if you do, it's all good!!!

wheels will be off next week getting everything repolished inner/outer barrels and lips and re-powder coating the faces...gold some where along those lines

dump it and paint the car aqua like ur rims

After the coming gold/polish treatment it would suit the rims if you painted rest of the car with that Teal...

uhmm...its ont the way do to no more threads...right now there is about 1-2 inches left on the front to go down and about 2 1/2 - 3 on the rears...only reason why it was left like that cause of my rear wheels...i didnt have my fenders rolled til bout a week ago...i would have eaten through my rear tires...now that its rolled and pulled out a bit i can dump it complete! woot woot!

Personally I like the look of the teal rims, like I said, it's different then what I'm use to seeing....and I like color

@OSCAR ....I think a different color scheme would be a refreshing change from the black,silver and white cars we see all the time.......I'm eventually gonna have mine sprayed another color to spice things up

Honestly, with the wheels its either you like them off the bat or you really dont like them...and if yall knew how much i got the rims and tires for...you wouldnt say anything about the wheels and the color...but the pics dont do the wheels justice...have to see them up close and for some reason this car looks different in pics then in real life...hahaha guess my cars photogenic...and for the clear headlights ive just always liked them but for the price i got them for i cant say anything!

I get alot of compliments on the choice of wheels and color...its either you really like them or you dont...but for the price i paid for them with tires to get it with those specs n widths i cant complain...just throw some more money into changing them!...panckaes and my boy jose at wheel depot was telling me about your car hahaha small world!

looks llike the y33 that stanceworks built. not digging the hipster wheel action, megan coils, or the poke but whatever; lots of people don't dig my steez either. audio lineup is legit. i think it will be much better with the updates you mentioned.

ive never seen or looked it up..i will check though...but "OG" like i said in the previous post for the price i cant complain and im changing it all out...not trying to start no style wars or parts wars i went with stuff that im a dealer for and what i can get a way better turn around warranty for here in so cal thats why the megans were chosen

where did you get those clear headlights if you don't mind me asking?
Only place I seen was on ebay and the prices are decent but the shipping is not.

actually got them from the homie aaron when he had them on his q and parted everything out...so ive had them since i first got my q like almost a year ago

It's lookin good. What are the offsets of the wheels if you don't mind me asking? But it would look sick if it was teal like your wheels. I also plan on doing a possible color change next year. But we'll see. :)

honestly i dont know...my homie had them on his widebody car and was running apdapters to push it out to match his widebody...ill find out and do some measuring and get a round about...should be a low offset but with the widths anywhere from mid-low

but damn! last night cruising to smashbuger to get some bomb ass grub in downtown sd! smashed my wheel on one of the potholes in dt...hahaha guess project re-powder coat wheels n polish everyhing out..in full effect...car looks retarded on stock wheels and curtains...lol! :pat:

Ouch...sux man but yea those potholes are viciousin in DT . That's why I usually dip my civic around but I'd have to admit it is kinda hard to get girls to notice you in a 94 civic that doesn't even have power windows haha. BTW I seen your other post, since I don't know how to weld the stock spindles for the front. I am gonna take it to a shop but if you wanna see them installed since were local you can always check them out. I'm curious as well to see the comparision to Megans.

lemme know i can get them welded up for you and have your spindles chopped up

WOOHOO...MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! changed all those damn WEAK INFINITI cluster bulbs and ac control panel bulbs full LED white...BEAUTIFUL! will have pics up of the VAST IMPROVEMENT now im taking apart all the switches that have a bulb in it to an led smb...and get them as nice looking as everything else! the upgrade gets erid of the tired low lit dim settings...and looks almost like the new infinitis when it comes to brightness! :runcoold::runcoold::runcoold::runcoold::runcoold:

cluster: 10 "74" bulbs led...changed the P R N D 1 2 and the GUAGE lighting

AC Controller: 4 Specialty LED bulbs...i got them from one of my distributors just came out on the market and i dont know the number...and 2 "74" bulbs for the clock!

yea it would...but q45 has only 4 bulbs for the factory set up...i was trying it to see what it would look like...got the job done and for the blueish hue...cant do nothing about it...the cluster layout has a blue film on it

Instead of the 9 bulbs in the stock holders, I'm using 30 LED's spaced about 1cm apart.

yea ide do somethin like that but the layout board on the q45 guage cluster is ike a plastic circuit board not like the toyota ones that are the regular circuit booards...imma try to do something this weekend!

THE CAR HAS GONE TO THE SHOP...getting resprayed...hopefully i dont roll snakeeyes with the paint...SATIN BLACK it is...im on the middle of removing everything complete headlights taillights moldings door panels! want it as close to factory as possible...i couldnt get a body kit in time for the job so fuck it...i ordered the artisan spirits body kit for the y33 and go from there...man soo much work soo little time and NO PARTS INSTOCK! wth...man i hate waiting...got money to burn and no place to throw it in the fire!! :saiyancrunks: :saiyancrunks:...oh and spraying my wheels also satin black...chrome/polished trims all around! should looks real good!

Did you have to drop the steering column to get the cluster out? Wondering if it's the same process as a 240...

no i didnt...the bezel has 2 screws that hold it in on the top, just lower the steering wheel all the way down and have it come towards you all the way and yank on it down and forward it should pop out...and that stupid security light is gonna give you a hard time tryna disconnect it from the bezel...and the cluster comes out with 4 phillips head screws and 3 connector plugs on the back!

completely stripped! paint shop was like "ronnie wheres all the parts" they thought i was gonna make it easy on them! they thought they were gonna end up taping up all the pieces..buts thats not how i roll on paint...this satin black is gonna look as stock as possible!

THANKS!...appreciate it but still debating on what to do! hahaha got the vip tint meet coming on the 18th tryna get everything all done before then but the funds are going haywire right now...lol damn you mortgage!! only problem i see with painting the lips black is that it takes away from the depth of the wheel and was thinking about repowder coating it gloss black to off set the satin and bring attention to the wheels and the car so it doesnt look like a black mess coming at you!

I feel u, but I'm not talking about painting the lips bro... I'm talking about painting your teal faces the color of the lips of the wheels I posted & leave your lips alone. The gloss black idea's cool too but Im not sure about that it would work out in real life...

oh my bad i stand corrected...yea i gotta take these sum bitches apart i already got the rears off need to get the car back and do the fronts

im gonna keep it coiled up, only thing id think of adding is the cup kit but thats about it suspension wise other then changing the rear control arms and rear toe arms so i can get it to camber right, but i havent had the chance to drop the rears so i can possibly get more out of it and probably not do anything else to the car. the 10.5 and 11.5 on the car with the slight poke has everyone asking me questions at the shop everyday on how the hell they fit with out no flares or crazy pulls...i gotta measure for the offset on the wheels i had gotten these from a friend of mine off his widebody 350z with adapters so he couldnt tell me anything about them just that he had them for sale and i was all over them!

you will be ok with an insanely stiff  suspension - they will fit up until the point you try to get low and drive it - if you are not running bag - no issues with backspacing but getting full turn might be an issue - anything you need - lemme know - i like it!

Since you brought it up jemaine, what are your thoughts on a 19x11 +6 on the front of a y33? I know it will fit width wise but I'm concerned with turning also, think I can go full lock with those? Sorry for threadjacking! Lol

Already on it I have my wheels teal right now imma do bronze with the straight polished lip I kept all the chrome accents so it will pop real nice with the color combo I need to update my pics pronto!

MAN IVE BEEN MIA...but ive still been working on my q45 but i just dont take pics and update constantly...but with all the holidays lately funds have been tight but now that they are getting over im focused back on it...ive recently completely dumped the rears tucking tires...atleast most of the tires hahahaha i now have "no name" tire brand the rear fender took care of that for me...but other then that ive ordered my new coil springs from megan to get it even lower all around cause right now im at 24 1/2 inches from the ground to the top of the fender...looks pretty good dumped on the 19x12 in the rears stock body i think when i get these new springs in im going to have to roll it out more...but ill see...going from 180mm fronts to 160mm and debating on kicking the 180s to the rear or replacing the 220mm to 210mm from megans...i dunno but imma update on pics...and ive just put on the nissan emblem i got from blitz! woot woot

cant compare the the 2 together...the leds dont produce enough lumens to see...i have the 32 smd leds for my reverse right now and cant see diddly! but these ill light up the street going backwards

nissan emblem trunk bradge via BLITZ...thanks man....and the "infiniti" trunk bar is now at the chrome shop getting it grinded down and re-chromed...im rocking my 2nd one til i get it back and it wont be a "nissan infiniti" no more...=D

HID retrofit conversion....H1 8k hids installed in the factory reverse lights no cutting or drilling needed just some hot glue to seal up the lights and time...about a 20 min install if you have time to take off your trunk lining and know which bolts you have to unscrew to release your center panel on the trunk on the 99-2001 trunks...oh i chose the h1's cause they almost exactly fit the stock bulb connector hole!

Not too long but I'll warm them before I go at night...mainly for night purposes

Awesome job on the reverse lights! Now my only concern is longevity.. I have been told that turning on HIDs repeatedly without them warming up fully will blow the ballasts..

i just dont throw my car into reverse and go...i usually throw it into reverse and change songs or check my surroundings before taking off...so thats about 30 secs and hids are more then warm by then...and honestly the price for the hids are better then just buying leds that dont produce enough lights...they look great for interior but for vision...suck ass...and warranty from my distributer is great so i dont have anything to worry about ill post pics of the wire up as soon as i get done with the relay set up

I don't get it. Why HIDs?!!! That seems excessive. The purpose of reverse lights is to warn people that you're backing up. Not to blind people or see better when reversing at night and damn son! 30 seconds to go from reverse to drive??? I jus don't understand.

& I can say with utmost certainty Ronnie will never have a problem of seeing in reverse again haha

it is a trip to see, lownslow has been by the pad to see it...and its a purpose only mod...not for everyone but just for me too see specially since my wheels poke i need the light to see

as for the paint...no grease and no scratches...if it was the matte version then it would scratch easy...this one has a clear shot with it so it works out real well

would also be dependent on color of choice the best one would be 4300k-6k but i chose 8k to match my headlights n fogs in the front...thinking about changiung whole set up to all pink...weeeeeeeeeeeeeee :runcoold::runcoold::runcoold:

these ones are cooler then running the halogen versions...so no melting left them on like they were headlights for 15 mins in my garage...and no problems at all...but i only hooked up one side but when i finish the other side it will have a relay i dont wanna burn up the reverse transmission switch or anything...like i said pretty simple mod nothing too crazy

Wow. Im impressed. On my Maxima, I had 28 smd led bulbs and I could light up a wall with them. These Y33 reverse housings with my new 20 smd leds SUCK. I can't even tell if I am in reverse or not.. As cheap as these HID kits are I might have to look into it as well..

what plastic trim?...the trunk bar? on the 99-2001 the trunk bar is all metal not plastic...i dunno about the f50

today just finished taking all my wheels apart...to get them read for a new color and repairs and re-barrelling...doing eveything myself since i have all the tools readily available to do it...and now since i have the car on stocks i can finish my suspension rebuild with all my new rucas...toe arms and traction arms!! woot woot

its crazy me and my boy were taking them apart and hes like "ronnie you should flip these and go flat lip" now im thinking of doing it...but it will make my wheels super negative off set...basically make it like this before my reverse lips would be 4" outs...and 7" inners...rear on these wheels would have been +6 off set...notw with it flipped...7" outers and 4" inners....OoOoOOoOO weeeeeeeeeee....were gonna test fit before anything but im really thinking about it!

no didnt slot just changed the screw setting...i cant go anyything more then the the front wheel sits abour .5 - .8 inches from the coilver itself im almost touching the housing at that degree

and the rears all i know as of right now the camber arm is maxed out along with the ruce ill get a degree as soon as i can

yeah, i changed the screws too and still slotted the shit out of the plates til the sliding part comes near the end of the plate itself ;) i could only get like -2.9 out of mine just by changing the screws and maxed out....:/

Thanks mang!...but on my wifes 2001 gs430 shes running 19x10.5 front n 19x12 rear she can pull off 19x11 but i need to get the new inner barrels its all about the offset...i build my own wheels so its pretty easy for me to do!

car is TOO MANY LOW! hahaha i need to notch the frame in the front so the top of the tires wont rub n relocate the wheel harness or tuck it up higher need to remove heatsheilds on cats cause everything is scraping! hahaha whew never ends...STATIC LIFE hahahaha

I would suggest getting motor mount spacers put in as well to raise up your cat and oil pan

drews selling me his whole set this weekend so im good...=D thanks drew! brokey machined some of the risers for him and he also has the rear risers...so ill have the complete set...haha and road refloctors on the 805 never stood a chance! hahahaha

Who has the engine spacers forsale.  Picked up nagisa y33 bolt on skid plate as well. Can barter if anyone is interested.

the engine risers can be made out of derlin. I assume its a one off thing due to what exhaust and so on you have. I can get them made. just need to know what size height you want, and what size hole for the bolt.
