Hey guys just got done with my exterior parts on the z and here is the verdict, waiting for someone to give me a real shoot, but here is a quick cell phone pic.

Sad news guys. After the society show, I will be taking of my side skirts, they hang way to low on the car. It is either raise the car, or take the sides off, and I really don't want to raise the car. They are ripping the tabs off the sides. :( 

What sucks even more is that I won't be able to sell them because they are cracked already :(

That's the hardest part with the Z crowd.  You need to do something above and beyond to stand out among a school of fish.  With the Z32 crowd I went deep and it really made the car unique and one of a kind, made it easy to stand out.  But remember, it's one thing to stand out...but it's another to stand out for the right reasons.

yup, thats what I am trying to do, but I don't know what I can do different. Everything has been done to this car :(

I don't believe that.  I heard the same shit with my Z32.  You need to be innovative.  People think too hard about doing the simple stuff, it's in the details where you can really make a difference.  One-off custom aero is one of the best ways to do this...and it's also, it seems, the neighborhood that Z guys don't usually visit.  That's one of the routes I took with mine that filled it with tigerblood.

Yeahh I get you, but being in college, and working with a minimum wage job won't cut it for stuff like that lol. When I graduate, then Ill start working on that stuff. Thanks for the advice though, thats how I think as well. Just can't afford it at the moment :(

Yo G! you drove right by me and the AF guys (we were walking, 5 of us) early sat morning when you were trying to drive around and find out how to get in the place (I tried to stop you then). Then as you were rolling out at the end I walked up to your car and was trying to get your attention and you dipped out on me

Denggg for real!!!! yeahh I remember seeing 5 guys from autofasion that morning lol,  My bad mannn!!! I was in a rush trying to find a way to get in, because they said if i don't get there asap then I can't park with my team. They wouldn't let me go through the main entrance, because of those wire things on the floor (not like I wanted to go over them lol) I definitely have to catch you next time, saw your car at the air runner booth, WAYYY TO SICK!!!

Ha! yea, that sucks cause cars were getting in way late after the designated roll in time.
And they told you that because the day before, that red mazda3 went over the all the fiber optic cables and had ripped them out :pat:

Nice car you get any more pics and since the sides are already cracking maybe have a shop custom mod them and shorten them a Little so you get a little more clearance this would start your custom body work. Just an idea

Yeah I hope I can keep it this low to, but probably not. I am pretty sure I have to raise it some time soon, it is to hard to keep it this low, I scrape on the flattest roads, and its a real hassle. I might just raise it 1/2 inch, were at least i'm not scraping on flat surfaces lol

I don't think I'm going to take the sides off anymore, I am just going to raise my car up a tad, I don't think it will look that bad, but will see ill post pic's when I raise it, that will be a sad day :(

Thanks man, Yeah I feel like the lip on these rims are perfect. I feel like there is a point were there is to much lip on a rim, and it just looks weird, but thats just my 2cents. It is definitely gangsta though when you do run insane lip lol

Yeah I totally feel you, but I felt that the sides give it a much more aggressive look raised then just slammed with out it. If you click on the youtube link above, its a video my friend took of me, ill repost it on the bottom. Thanks for the kind words though!!

I actually fixed the first page link.  You only need to place the video "letters" (the series of upper and lower case letters) into the youtube tags.  If you "go advanced" you'll see the youtube tag on the far right where the tags are.

So its been awhile since i've updated this thread. But a couple of things have changed on the car now so I guess i'll update this old thread LOL, and I'm waiting for my next class to start at school so I have nothing to do. 

My car looked the same for almost 2 years!!! So the summer of 2012 hit and I was really getting tired of my car, so I put it up for sale for the whole summer, I got a couple of offers from people in the military saying they will buy it in July, August etc. but when the time came they never got back to me. I also got offered some trades. The list included a dodge neon srt4, a mitsubishi evo 8, and a chevy camero. I could never see myself driving an american car so I refused the camero and neon instantly, and at the time I was looking for a VIP car so the evo was turned down as well.   

So after that summer I knew no one wanted to buy my car, so since I was really bored of it I decided to trade my wheels for a custom set of rebarreled volk gt-7's (which I extremely regretted after a month LOL) and I also took off my side skirts because they were literally cracked in half due to them dragging on the floor all the time.

I decided to give 19's a try. I wanted to tuck rim so thats what I did.

I felt like the car was to plain with oem sides so I decided to purchase a set of REPLICA nismo side skirts. After buying an authentic set of chargespeed side skirts that were literally obliterated, I couldn't cough up the money to buy authentic nismo sides knowing the same thing might just happen to them, which is the reason why I decided to go replica. Here is a pic as well:

I literally had the volks for about 4 months and the more I looked at my car the more I disliked them. I hated them so much I almost didn't drive the car for a month LOL. 

So last month I was able to sell them. Now I was thinking about my next set of wheels. I am always trying to be different with my car because there are a billion Z's out there doing the same thing that I am doing. So I thought about a couple different sets of wheels. I thought about doing some Kranze bugels, some work bersaglios, and some Kranze ERM's. I felt like the bugels didn't flow with the car that well when I Photoshooped it on so I crossed that out. (I may do them in the future though because they are one of my favorite wheels.) I was about to do the bersaglio's but I couldn't get the lip size I wanted due to the sandwhich mount so I opted out of that, also because they have been done on a Z before. Now I had the ERM's which I was about to do, but decided not to because I remembered a couple of years back a Z had them on that was pretty EFAMOUS so I opted out of that as well. So I came to the conclusion I was going to do some SSR VIENNA KRIES I know every other VIP car has them, but I have never seen them on a Z and i've never seen them in the sizes I have them in. Any ways I know this is a lot of reading LOL but I have been out of this thread for about 2 years so here is the update lol. Here is a pic of the product. Again the car is no where near done, I need to do more interior stuff and audio stuff so I'll try to update this thread as much as I can.

sizing is 18x10-5 with a 5in. lip and 18x12-5 with a 6in. lip. Sorry again for all the reading.

aren't authentic nismo sides polyurethane? personally i think the volks looked good, but to each their own.

those viennas are some of my fav wheels and look dope on your car. and agreed with the gt-7, one of my least favorite wheels and i've yet to see them on a car and love it.

Yeah I liked them in the beginning and the fact that they were rebarreled caught my interest, but I didn't realize they sell for so cheap on the market. I lost a lot of money straight trading the ssr's for them.
