What I [B]AM[/B] here for is to share knowledge, real knowledge about how custom work can be done, where to find it, to share ideas and inspiration on how to take something that has been done and twist it so that you OWN it and set yourself apart from other in the subtle but important ways.

I [B]AM[/B] here to help others that want to learn the style and the culture of VIP.

I [B]AM[/B] here to help build a community that builds each other up.

I [B]AM[/B] here because VIP is mildly exclusive....Unfortunately that means some people will be [U]EXCLUDED[/U].  You can't have one without the other.  The Nice thing is that what you will find is people will be excluded based on their attitude, their commitment, and their workmanship, not strictly on price and money.  

You CAN build a VIP car without having boat loads of cash, but slapping on some curtains and pulling fenders is NOT VIP.



My whole point to all of this is:  You don't have to be here, [U]we are happy that you are[/U], but if you aren't going to respect others and respect the community and culture....just don't post.

I know i'm one of the new members, but after reading that post i can't say anything other than THANK GOD!,   i'm sick of going onto various forums and seeing people posting uselessly to increase their postcount.
 
i read a lot of posts on the forums before i signed up and registered, and in all honesty i might not post much but i will lurk, read and absorb it all  (eg the thread with the 3 presidents)  absolutely amazing story and devotion to save those cars. 
 
i'm 25 years old and while i'm not new to the whole car "tuning" scene i am new to the VIP style of tuning,  and i cannot wait to learn more.

Nah for real though its good to hear that coming from mods. Its anoying going onto forums (I wont name any) and you just see thread after thread of post count *****s bumping worthless threads or just coming in and saying "thats neat"

 I'm new to VSC . I have been going through the  threads and find myself in a place I can say I fit in. I agree with the  OP 100% and the fact that VIP STYLE is not just auto fashion but a  community with a culture in itself.

Its a different scene than the 240 drift kids, or honda-tech, or the crazy idea VW kids. I've been into the scene for 2 years (with no platform car) and can honestly say, as each month passes, this scene is where I feel I fit in best/want to be. I'm almost 24, have a 13 month old son and a house. I don't give a shit about 30mph roll racing anymore. I want to be comfortable and smooth.

Great thread! It is more creativity than money really. A lot of people can pull something off nice with a budget build.

I like vip when I want a break from the society of always wanting to race that next person. Yesterday I was out and got revved on by some douche in a 04 mustang going the opposite way!! Didn't look at him or give him any attention that he was looking for.. He just thinks that since I was in a hooked up car it was my only car and what it looks like is what I do with it.. He I am sure like most around here, think since I am in a import, he is flexing his "muscle" Since I am well rounded and love all cars.. he doesnt know that he revved at a guy who owns a "real" mustang a 1969 mach1.

So going off and all off topic to come back to what needs to be said.. Just cause we have a car that's coming along, and being here on a "vip" forum, your car may not be vip yet.. but its getting there and thats why we are here. So respect those who come up, we dont know their situation, they may have a lot of builds that are on other forums that dont pertain to this one in particular.. So instead of bashing one's 4x4 status, give props for getting to where that car is and it's soon to be future.

It's all nice to hear being new to the forums. nice to finally see a mature set of individuals not the "240 kids" hah.

Its good to refresh sometimes! I may not agree with all the rules here but this place is different and we need to keep it that way even though we are constantly growing and changing

i grew up with honda-tech... and slowely started realizing how things work on the forums.. now that place if full of hater and shit talkers... its always good to have an online community full of enthusiasts with different taste.. cuz how lame would it be if everyones cars were the same..

Thats too funny. I grew up building hondas so im used to people bashing. Especially how the honda community has changed from when I was doing it. Too many ebay builds and knockoff brands are killing jdm. Im proud to be a ricer but definately embarrased at how kids are killing it with the crap builds and ish talk. I do love the fact that vip is like jdm once was. Sort of like a secret society. Looking forward to see future builds for vip and please dont support the copy. Its killing our tunner society.

New member here, new to the VIP scene. I like what yall are doing but I know I cant go the full VIP route because mine will be a DD and will need to be as reliable as possible. Hopefully I pick up a Q soon and can get to work!

I own a 240sx (S14) and I use to USE to post on Zilvia alot and that place is just full of post wh*res and Trash talkers. 
 
I'm 22 and am currently in the market for a Y33 as a daily/VIP project ontop of my 240sx project. 
I hope to learn alot while on this forum, seeing how its the total opposite of the 240 world. good bye zipties and duct tape!

Hey everyone!I'm new to the vip scene,but have had a lot of exposure thanks to events/shows and meets.More importantly,mitsuwa marketplace in clairemont was where it all started,well the book store there to be more specific.Picked up a VIP style magazine and glanced through the pages and from there I fell in love with this scene.
This only happened ~1 years ago and at the time I had a 2010 civic coupe.
Sadly I had to say bye to it the day after my birthday last month due to an accident
However I managed to replace it with an e46 m3 of which I plan to mod vip-style
Yes,you read that correct haha.Although it is an m-series car,I've decided to take a totally different route with it and hopefully achieve it.Plan to learn A LOT from this site,and meet new people :)

I am new to the whole VIP and car tuning scene.. I've been building mini trucks the past few years, and now that i have a family that likes going to shows i'd rather ride comfortalble in Style we can all fit in...
I AM HERE TO LEARN!!

I've been  scanning through all the posts i can get my hands on the last few days and decided to join and hopefully meet people in the NW and all around that are into the same style as me.

I will be making a build log soon... hopefully.

^ Yea +1 on here to learn,and luckily I have Burgy in my area for support in addition to this community/forum.

Doesn't know it but he is basically my VIP/VIP CAR mentor, as I have gone to him about all ?'s I may have. Has always been cordial and helped out which is rare in most car communities, one of the main differences i have seen in this community. Also helped spark my interest into the VIP CAR scene.

YAY Newbies! Ahahaha well I gotta agree with Burgy. VSC basically becomes the a forum full of members from a lot of different forums. Which helps the diversity and also the understanding I guess. People grow out of forums and IMO this forums is for people that just want a nice atmosphere and at the same time get some good information. I feel like I'm the youngest one here though... LOL.

As far as cars go, I REALLY started leaning towards the luxury side than the performance side, seeing as there aren't many places around here where I could really enjoy speed without having cops, pedestrians, or traffic in the way... who wants that kind of heat? ANYWHO, I skimmed through the site and it looks really legit! I doubt I could be of much help when it comes to questions, BUT I'll try my best and I want to thank you all in advance for answering any possible questions in the future (:

Newbie here =) (been somewhat following the VIP style for a few years) Now that i have a steady income, I decided to join this forum to get some ideas and major help when i hit any bumps in the road. Already have a 00 Q (for the past 3 years now) as my platform and will be starting my slow but steady paced build this summer which will be my daily driver around these beautiful streets of So Cal =D.

Hello everyone, its Eugene a.k.a Gene!! I'm a new member to the VIP crowd coming from GA; although I don't drive a traditional VIP platform I intend for it to resemble the likes. My current car is a 2011 Kia Forte4 (sedan) and I've done some really small mods to slowly move it ascetically from economy to luxury. I still have to revamp some things, but I'm learning more and more here & there while growing and continuing to take notes.

its really nice to see that this place isnt full of pricks such as the s chassis scene and honda scene(im not being rude...especially cause i used to be heavy into those scenes lol.) but this place feels alot more welcoming than other forums ive been on. none of that like a bau5.....more like a sir status lol

Nice thread.....I remember not so long ago this forum was becoming "too elitist".......   I can't remember how many times I've said that we don't have all the VIP chassis here so we have to embrace other platforms styled in the VIP theme.

New to VIP but not knew to the car scene.  Been into cars since I was knee high helping my dad wax the ol, trans am firebird I think 1970s something, thing was beast w/ 454 ci engine.   Any how had dozens of cars/imports/muscle/mini trucks, even lived in Japan two different times.  

As of now I'm rolling in a 2011 Ford Fusion, not many VIP style fusion out there so I hope to be one of the best looking daily driving, semi fuctional Fusions, 
I guess my ride is gonna be VIP lite if you will, I live in mountains and as you can guess I like the twisties.

I'm glad to be here, been reading lots of threads.

And finally have got a clean platform to start my first VIP car. Its a little different, but i'm sure I can make it work. 7th gen accord. Anyway I had the pleasure to meet many of you at Black 3 last year (I was with the guy that won the LA wheels, what a day that was) and I was very impressed to see how nice everyone is in this "scene" and since then I have had this need to build one of these cars. Anyway i'm from The Toronto area in Canada and hope to meet a lot more people!

Hey guys the name is Adam and I drive a Honda ep3. I'm done with the Honda Scene because of how horrible it has become and I'm just sick of driving a low class car. I'm currently trying to sell my car and looking for a Lexus GS300 LS430, Infiniti G35 or Q45, and an Acura TL. I've been stalking this forum without making an account just to get ideas on what chassis I should start with, but know i feel like its been too long and should start interacting with members. Whats going on fellas. Been in the page since '12 but just browsing around and admiring rides. I'm Mauricio here in Atl, Love the style, currently running a platform not vip related (04 G35 coupe). Love the threads, builds, and the folks that keep it classy. Either way, forum is great.

Im here to look on information on which car i should buy after i part out my TSX. I want a good platform to start with. Big body V8 with rear wheel drive is my goal!
