Camber and tyre wear

So I recently got my Aristo back after its makeover and I'm running -5 on the rear with 19 x 13 ET -6 wheels.

The only problem is I've only driven about 400 ish miles and the inner tyre is now on the canvas which is illegal...! How can I make my tyres last longer? I cannot afford to spend £225 ($350) a tyre (Continentals 285/30/19) every time I go to a couple of shows lol! 95% of the tread is basically fine. I enjoy driving the car at full low, which obviously puts more stress on the inside edge, but I don't want to drive it full height to lower the camber rating to get more tread as, well, it makes the car look stupid at 4x4 height haha!

I've been told to adjust the toe arms or something?

even after an alignment, you are going to have significantly increased tire wear.

but not at 400 miles. you should have to flip every 3 or 4k id say

1. Get your alignment done at your ride height!
2. Buy cheap tyres like Nankang (nankang.co.uk or camskill.co.uk), ~450€/4 pcs.
3. Flip tyres as they wear.

btw, I have -11 front, -12 rear and I flip tyres at about 1000-1200 km...and I did alignment myself :)

I did have the alignment done at the ride height and but I will get it redone when I get new tyres.

Its too late to flip these now unforutnately, but I will make sure this week that everything gets done in time for JAE and Players

check that the lasers are put correctly on the wheels. I had one laser put incorrectly and that wheel´s alignment was fu€ked up.

Lam, i suggest getting aftermarket rear Toe links if the stock ones do not adjust close enough to oem.

I got a figs engineering kit, which has the toe links I think...They were designed for a GS300, but not an Aristo, but they seemed to be difficult to fit. I'm taking the car in for an alignment next thursday and I will bring all the stuff that I had so that they can do their thing...

I'd suggest getting something harder than Nankang's 'coz they're too soft... e.g. like Achilles/Toyo/Michelin/Conties that are harder and don't wear out so fast...

But Lam I'm shocked to hear that the Conties got so f'ed up so fast, your rear toe must be completely out of whack at ride height! Btw do you still have TRC? Camber+power easily means excess wheel spin every time you touch the throttle a wee bit too much, what inconjuction with

the bad toe must be the culprit for your fast wear...

I get only NANKANGs because their sidewalls are strong and they are cheap.
-5 aint that much for a fast tyre wear. I´m sure alignment is off.
did you do any burnouts lately =) ??

I love Nankangs but they do have low treadwear. Fix that toe and you should be good. The fronts aren't wearing as bad?

I've disabled TRC and ABS because I am a real man :D (or a fuse has gone and I've not bothered to replace it lol)

I haven't done any burnouts (lol, I am not 17 any more)

I haven't been driving aggressively on boost much, nothing more than usual, and certainly much less since i've noticed the wear (you know you're driving slow when a coach load of tourists overtakes you on the motorway haha)

The fronts are fine.

So basically its the toe. I have the alignment booked in for next Thursday, and am getting a new set of Nankangs tomorrow afternoon. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully they will last the journey for the two shows I have this weekend before the alignment!!

^this.

I'm also running the Conti tires, and I have -6.5 rear, -5.5 front and I just flipped my tires after 1 year, which is right about what Grant said at 3-4k miles. The insides are now on the outside and they actually look quite good, they're smooth but not bald and no thread showing. Plus the camber wear makes the tires shaped like a cone, so now it looks like even more camber FTW LOL....

It's got to be the toe is off cause camber alone won't eat them up in 400 miles.

Thanks for the advice guys, its much appreciated. I was so shocked when I decided to have a look and see how the tyres were doing, and seeing that the inner edge was through to the white canvas! I only have to do 3 more shows with this car, so when I change the tyres on tomorrow, I'll drive at full height to "spread the load" over 200 ish miles and after alignment next Thursday, I will be able to make the tyres last much longer. It might be baller to change Continentals every 400 miles, but even ballers have limits lol

You're on air I'm guessing?

If you don't ride at the same ride height all the time then you're going to chew those tires up in no time.
