chrispy's LS430 Build Thread
As you guys probably already know, I sold my GS430 and bought myself an LS430. I miss the GS a lot but the LS is on a different level.
This build thread will be slow.
Here's when I first got it.
First thing I did was swap out the stock air suspension for coilovers. Headed down to Parts Shop Max in San Diego for testing.
Couldn't lower the front until I got home since my fenders weren't rolled yet.
I got a set of Celsior fog lamps from Japan.
They come with a yellow glass capsule just like the fogs on the GS as well as a parking light. I turned it into a turn signal.
I had my Junction Produce Scara wheels in 19" from my GS so I threw those on after rolling and shaving my fenders.
I like them a lot but it's time for something new. They are for sale.
That's it for now!

Thanks guys! Small update today. Since I got my coilovers my front upper control arms keep banging the top so I cut some holes.
I used a 2 1/2 inch hole saw. A carbide one is more expensive but it will cut much smoother and last longer.
Look to see where it's banging and drill a pilot hole to the top.
Then use that hole you made to guide the holesaw down.
Use some sandpaper and smooth out the edges. I made a slight mistake so I had to touch up a few spots.
I covered the top with some tape and sprayed it with some paint so it won't rust. Then I used touchup paint for the top. I'm looking for a rubber gasket that fits the hole to keep the dust out. It's nice because the LS has engine covers to hide the holes. I have no more UCA banging problems. :)
I should have updates coming soon!

Nice!!! Ive been thinking about doing this. Especially since the covers will hide it. Since I am still rolling on my stock wheel till my wheels come in I think I am hitting the top of my buff as tire first. There is a spot on my daily commute where I am almost certain I am Hitting the uca though so Ill probably be doing this soon. Thanks for sharing!

Your UCA should hit before the tire does. You know when you hear it. I'm looking for a rubber grommet or plug to keep the dust out.

Check Lowe's. I got a Milwaukee brand and it wasn't very durable. I had a good experience with Lenox. I believe there was a carbide tipped one at Lowe's but I don't remember the brand.

Speaking of cutting and since you were also a GS owner, does cutting also needed on 2gs and 3gs models? I hope not.

Update! Sold my Junction Produce Scaras to Mattbeezy. I decided I wanted to try out some 20's.
Picked up some suspension pieces.
Nagisa Auto camber multi adapter. Lowers the car 30mm, adds 2.5 degrees of negative camber, moves the caster forward 10mm, and gives me more suspension travel in the front. These things are amazing! They correct so many problems with the front suspension.
Megan camber arms, traction arms, and toe arms. Toe arms not pictured. Looks like they updated the paint job on these things. They are sparkly blue now! In order to match the front camber, I needed to add in the camber arms, but that pushes the wheels too far forward. That's where the traction arms come in to center the wheel inside the wheel wells. But that throws off the toe drastically so I got the toe arms just for ease of alignment.
YouZealand SS kit pro. Lowers the car 30mm all around and fixes the roll center. The car tracks much better with the corrected suspension geometry. Since I have the Nagisa block up front, I'm only using the rear for this setup.
And a teaser for the upcoming new wheels. ;)

I got it from Japan. The UCF20 doesn't have caster issues so you can use Studio ones. They're readily available and much cheaper too.
Dranom;498495 wrote:Thats what i meant. My bad

Dranom;498705 wrote:so the rear ss kit pushes the wheels out?
Yes, only the multi camber adapter for the LS430 corrects caster. The rear SS kit lowers the car 30mm without affecting camber. It doesn't necessarily push the wheels out but you don't get as much natural camber with it on. The Nagisa block in the front pushes the wheels put about 8mm though.

Yeah I'm annoyed that the faces weren't lined up when they put them back together. I'm going to take them apart and redo it one of these days. Need to get some decals for my spokes too. The 20" S1 was only in 2 piece and the faces are 18" double stepped to 20" so it looked kind of weird to me. These wheels came off of a red G35 so who knows maybe it was the same guy.
I wish they line up the disk during reassembly. there was a guy keep messaging me about my original SSR carbon cap I wonder if it is the same guy. Work did have 20" meister s1 back in the day.

Installed my Junction Produce Type 2 quad exhaust. I had to cut the stock bumper to fit them.

Yes they are just axle backs. I didn't have anything done except new piping welded to the stock piping and new hangers.

Just replaced the mufflers, nothing special was done. It was B&M Muffler in Garden Grove. They fabbed new hangers and piping to the stock exhaust.
Car was involved in a hit and run yesterday. Hope it can be fixed by VIP festival. :(

My car's rear end got smashed in a hit and run last month. It damaged mostly my trunk and rear bumper. I had the emblems shaved and installed a Junction Produce roof spoiler at the same time. I also added chrome door handles. My friend took some recent pictures of it. :)

Put some projectors in my high beams, cleared out my amber corner light, and installed some TSX-R clear lenses into the LS430 projectors. The amber corners really killed the look of the car for me so I had to get rid of them. :)

Thanks guys, I did them myself. The hardest part is actually removing the headlights from the car. There are so many harnesses and they are on tight. These headlights were a lot easier to open than other headlights I've done in the past. I'm in the process of wiring them up with a relay so I can control the high beam projectors independently. Right now they turn on only with the low beams.

Hey chrispy! I was wondering if you would mind sharing your wheel/tire specs? The car looks great and I'm looking at getting some wheels soon -- kinda back and forth between 19s and 20s. Let me know. Thanks!

Yep, it enables me to drain both tanks to the outside with just a twist.

Couple updates. Got some new parts in. Installed some Celsior window visors. You guys know what those look like.
Nagisa Auto lower camber and traction arms. They have more adjustment than what I had before and the joints have more angle. Excuse the dog toys. :p
Adjustable tie rods to correct bumpsteer. My factory tie rods were destroyed so these made a world of difference, especially with the bumpsteer correction. A must have for slammed cars. Not sure if these are Nagisa but they look similar to the other arms I have.
Went back to Parts Shop Max at their new location in Escondido to test out their prototype airbag over suspension. I had them add more camber in the front to match the rears.
Then did a mini photoshoot in their showroom.
I played around with the heights to get it a bit lower. I can probably get it even lower if I try.
Latest pic is from the Kyoei USA meet in Anaheim over the weekend.

I loved my arms (never ran pbm coils tho) when I ran them in my 240's.
VIP is a pretty small market, well at least in the US. That would be so dope if they did make em, decent price, and good quality.
