HELP!!! Anyone have experience importing cars to Cali?

Ok so I need help bringing a car from Japan over to Los Angeles and I was wondering if anyone has done this before or can do it legitimately for me? Thanks in advance guys for any help you can offer. Oh and just to give some inside info the vehicle in question is 20 yrs old and it has a stateside counterpart that should make it easier to legalize due to crash test sheets being available.

what car is it? Theres a list of cars that can be imported. I'm not home or I would link it up. I'll link it when I get home later.

For all intents and purposes the car is qualified to be imported..... it's just the purchase overseas, transport, and legalization that I need help with! Thanks for the site though it helps refresh what to keep in mind when contacting people about the car!

Already contacted all three in Cali, and none will contact me back..... and RBmotoring isn't an RI anymore so I'm SOL hahahahahaha

I might be able to help you, my friend does customs documentation and can bring over a car for you.

Im live in Cali and have personaly brought over a car from japan and registerd it. I daily drive it w/ cali plates (that match the car) I have pink slip .. 100% legit and legal !

If it's a car that you can buy in the US, this is helpful.

I have two friends that brought cars over in the last year; a Mitsubishi FTO and a Skyline R34 sedan... both were HUGE nightmares and took nearly a year to get released. Neither car can legally be driven on the street- they are show cars only.

I wouldn't bother if you intend to register it in Cali. You might get away with registering them in Florida or Arizona.
