Just sharing my 2001 Y33 Q45

Just like to share my y33 with everyone. Could not just leave the vehicle the way I bought it. Didn't want the words of "built not bought" hovering around. Now I'm trying to re-vamp this legend with my ideas and DIY skills. Most likely Im going to ruin this vehicle with my taste but "to each his own". The main reason why I purchased this particular Y33 was because of the body kit and that it had so much potential for more modding. I always was in love with Junction Produce from the early 2000s. I specifically wanted a kit with doors caps/side skirts because I knew I was going to run a wide offset and widen the fenders. Door caps and a skirt contour great with wide fenders. Also from what I'm hearing this is the only authentic JP kit in the nation.

Nice! Good to see it in good hands. My friend purchased this car a couple years ago and sold it. It was gorgeous.

oh hey i saw this car at DTM a few weeks ago

My foglight progress. Saw the Aimgain Ls460 bumper fogs and wanted to mimic something similar,horizontal tho.  I used dual halo fogs and Led puddle lights. I cut up the fog light shrouds which were for a Nissan Altima. Found some grommets that fit the puddle leds. Everything worked out fine. Kinda Extreme but Im fading away from the classic vip look with this revamp

If you don't mind me asking, I've got a set of lights a part doing the retro in them now and I have yet to start sanding.

What process did you use knocking down the plastic and what kind of DA did you do the sanding with? I was thinking a 3" and just start somewhat high, around 400-600 then obviously build back up to 2000ish grit.

Sorry for the late reply,

I used a Dremel brand tool with 10 adjustable speeds. I used Dremel sanding disc 60,120,240. Then wet sanded 320-3000 by hand. Then used a 3 polishing process with Novus brand products using a mini airgun polisher and pads from Habor Freight tools. When using the Dremel, keep the it moving so you dont burn the acrylic. If you get minor burns spots start at 60 and again. When polishing, keep polishing using the mini gun and not a buffing wheel with a pad. Youll have more chances to burn a groove in the acrylic.
