yellow HID fogs

anyone run yellow HID fogs ?

Im not a big "lights" guy but I can't imagine how nice it would look with 4300K headlight HID's and 3000K yellow fogs.

I'm not for the yellow fog look... I've had friend used the clear paint to paint their housings yellow and just used brighter bulbs... but I'd rather have matching fogs and lows... I just bought 6000k bulbs for both of my and will post pics when they're installed.

I am thinking about putting a set of 30000K PINK FOGS to see how it goes with my 8000k headlights  :uglystupid2:

I wanna see 12k purple lights with 30k pink fogs!

12k on the headlights would yield too little light power, the pink fogs is just for color testing...haha I dont know if I will like it and I am just thinking about it.

I am rocking Yellow PIAA Fogs right now and I like how it looks

this is my old setup..
6k on top and 6k for fogz looks gangsta..

remember to pickup 2 sets from vipq45 so they break in
at the same time.. that way the color stays consistant..

oh yeah about the yellow..
ive tried yellow 3000k on the fogz..
i think the 6000k all around looks a lot cleaner..
but that was on my xb..

i dunno how it'l look on other cars..
it looks good on my buddy's EP3..

Why do HID if going yellow?

good question..
the yellow hid's give off a pretty damn bright light.. lots of lumens..
i dont think halogen's put out as much. i could be wrong..

I've never seen yellow HID in real life so imagining the advantage is a bit difficult

I love both looks as well as function on the yellow HID fogs. I personally do not run them as I don't have any Fogs (lol) but if I did I would go the yellow route. From riding in people's rides with both "white" and "yellow" fogs by far the "yellow" makes everything more visible. The yellow also makes your ride more visible to others to help prevent accidents.....but then again I am sure that they also get the attention of our :police: Just my .02 cents.

I REALLY want to see the Pink 30,000k HID, I've seen purple before a couple times, but the pink would just be crazy!

Keep in mind the more k you are pushing only affects the color ... pink, purple, blue, etc. For actual best visibility, these higher output setups will be not as great. If you're not very HID savy, [url]www.HIDPlanet.com[/url] is a great resource for information on how it works, color range charts, installs, and how to's on retro and other custom lighting setups. 

Also keep in mind HID Kits ... are illegal, everywhere and are dangerous to other motorists on the road. While your shining your 30,000K light and thinking life is good, if not installed w/ good projector or aimed right you're blinding everyone around you and endangering them, and yourself. The best bet is OEM, and your next best bet is always Retrofit.

i believe pink HID lighting was a joke. there is no 'pink' an the basic color spectrum, it goes ROYGBIV- Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet. anything higher than 12000-16000k will be a deep dark purple, and come close to no actual light at all. Optimal light output is between 4300k-6000k. 3000k (yellow/amber)Foglights will break up the fog better, and there is a thread on HIDPlanet where a member showed both (IIRC) 5000k and 3000k in the same foglight. you could see way more with the 3000k. it's not as harsh on the fog, where it creates hotspots and blindness.

the purpose of pink or green hid is more for show..
or what u like.

had 3k's in my fogs for my TL before....i loved it....very useful in hard rain

My friend has yellow HID's in his TL fog/driving light location and I thought it looked great contrasting against the stock HIDs. I'm planning on putting yellow HIDs in my stock LS400 foglight location as well myself.

I'll be running 10-12k headlights and 3k fogs with my new head and fog lights.  I also like the usefulness of the fogs in heavy rains.  Sometimes it really pours out here.  The Violet hue acts like sort of a black light effect at night with all the white and yellow lines and signs glowing brightly.  Can see forever with them.

IMO...not fond of yellow fog's, I use Sylvania Silver Star's in my low high and Turn and I matched my fogs with my lows. But I am wondering whats the highest kelvin rateing for bulbs used with a vehicle.

Hey Caoboy hows that aquarium going, I dont know about anything over 16k beeing that purple, my Metal Halides on my aquarium for just an example are 20k and they give a nice crisp bright shimmer but anything that can flourec will they do also have a very high wattage...????  hmmmm I just dont know maybe the low wattage will decrease the daylight sepctrums...??? I just dont know.

yes, ive wondered if the MH light spectrum commonly used in sw tanks and hydroponics can be compared directly to HID for automotive applications.

Well I have the non HID standard setups, I like HID when behind the wheel but when you have it coming at you its just blinding especially when you just went on a burn run. OUCH!!!!

But that may enhance night time driving, I read somewhere that some European countries might utilize something almost like this for nighttime conditions as well as rainy nights by painting some kinda fluorescents on signs and lines. But I dont think its actually hapening.

I recently installed a hid kit on my gs3.6000k in the lows and 3000k in the fogs.I like the way it looks from the outside kinda different and gets you notice.and visability is great.

i'll be using 3000k HID fogs soon. it will look great and definitely help visibility.

I currently have 4300K hid in the lows and fogs. I had 4300K in the lows and 3000K in the fogs before, it was cool, different, helps a lot more in the rain than 4300K fogs, but I chose to go back to 4300K fogs. I guess my yellow fogs to me looked a little more like I'm replicating an IS or GS, not that there's anything wrong with that, I just want to have all white lights up front to set me apart.

I'm comptemplating on yellow fogs for my Y33. Does anybody have pics of what theres look like! I've noticed there's so many different shades of 4300K & 3000K. If any body has the new issues of VIPstyle mag, I want the yellow that's on the K-break LS rollin w/ GS!

It looks like yellow fogs with Lows on the blue side of the kelvin scale.

Yellow and Blue makes green, its sealed!

I ran yellow D2S HID bulbs in my S2000 and loved them.  I never got harrassed by the law, yet I got a lot of attention from other car enthusiests.  I thought that they were just as good at the stock bulbs as far as seeing at night.  Heres a daytime shot of the lights...

be careful with NBO..... look at their limited lifetime warranty:

[/B]s/h charges are fine, but inspection charges?, and most problems with pnp hid kits are burst/blown bulbs that i have seen.....that's not covered under warranty..even though the company name is never burn out?

and if you install it yourself, since you aren't a dealer, you are voiding the warranty right there. hmm.... just a warning.

the phillips 3000k bulbs have been pretty hard to get lately. i tried to find some for a freind of mine recently but no luck at all. we ended up going with the yellow sleve over OEM phillips 4100k bulb and the result was not bad at all plus they were really cheap also

good point! I contacted the guys over at [url="http://www.neverburnout.com']NBO[/url] and they told that having burst or blown bulbs was for a standard boiler plate protection, and that they were updating it 'They cover just about everything' (any problems I would contact them directly). They're really helpful guys, I love the kit and output I now have with their kit. Just be sure to do your research, nice job pointing out those specifics though!
