Question for LS430 guys
are the JDM brakes and USDM brakes the same? Here's an image i just grabbed on Yahoo. And if they are the same do mid size disk wheels clear the caliper? Only reason I ask is because I want to upgrade the brakes on my Aristo and i dont have any room for spacers.

if you want to upgrade your brakes, go for either supra or ls400 brakes.
ls400 brakes (95-00) fit under a 16" wheel, and are 4 piston. they are also the lightest out of the three.
supra wheels fit under 17" wheels, and are 4 piston.
i THINK stock ls430 brakes need 18" wheels to clear, not sure though.
i've also never heard of anyone using ls430 brakes on a gs300 though.
for the ls400 brakes you need an 'rca' (search club lexus, you might find out more there) which is basically a shim to fit on the lca i think, so the caliper wont hit the knuckle or something like that.
i think for the supra you dont need the rca, and again, not sure about the ls430 brake, because i've never seen it used.
ls400 might fit without a spacer, supra, i know you need it, and not sure about the ls430 once again.

Ya I was thinking of the 20 series Ls's but I like the shape of the 30 series. Call me picky. I have 18" wheels already no too worried about that just the just the disk sizing from the caliper to the spokes. The install I'm not too worried about. My mechanic says he can install it no problem but I need a bracket which apparently there is a kit for and it cost more than the brakes temselves. *sigh* guess i might have to settle with the UCF20 or JZS80 brakes

considering you have to buy the bracket to mount the UCF30 caliper, i think it'd be best to get the jza80 since it's cheaper plus the rotors are 324mm as suppose to 315mm so it'll probably fill the wheel a little better and you also have more pads selection with the jza80 calipers also.
