Even though I have a 99 LS400 I'd go with the LS430 if there were about the same price. The only thing that gets me a little is the 30K lower miles in the 2000. I myself probably would be willing to pay an extra $5K for an LS430 with maybe 15K less miles, but that me.

the KEY is price/if they are ultra luxury or not.

430 is just so many steps above the 400 in refinement.  Def depends on whether you can find a killer deal.

get the 430. the miles don't matter if it's been maintained. when i worked at lexus i regularly serviced a 430 with over 300k on it, all original, ran perfectly.

I had a similar choice and chose the LS430. A 30k milage difference is worth the style of the UCF30/31. Plus these cars can go for many, many miles. My 430 just hit 80k and it runs like a dream.  Just be aware the 90k service is the big one ($1300+)

This is extremely tough bro because Im a huge LS fan.....Im going with the 21 just because everyone else is leaning towards the 30...heres a couple of fine examples...

I do agree wtih you if the OP is going to VIP the car... for some reason the ucf30's just don't look as cool when done vip. of course that's just my opinion, but it seems like the dark gangster look isn't there as it is with UCF10 or UCF20. the 30's are missing that "mean" look. 
don't get me wrong, the 30's are badass cars but i prefer the older models for VIP.

I recently purchased a Black 03 LS430 w/ 60,000mi. This car is imaculate! Perfect condition in and out. The features and everything on this vehicle is totally Big Luxury Yakuza. Now thats Attitude.
