LED Side mirrors. Nice or Rice?

Talked to a few people about these. and I got mixed feelings about it. Wonder what you guys thought? I know most people are like "just do up your car the way you like it" . I mean I do like them but I still stink it may be border line of over doing it a little

do it..its not overdoing it at all..@ the same time, do the led at the bottom of the side mirrors, juz like the new e90 side mirrors & what car is this goin on to?

Are they brand name?????? hahaha just kidding. It's like this yeah it's your ride and yeah do it up how you please, but remember..... you're going to eventually post up pics of it and we have to look at it so keep us in mind! hahahahaha but seriously if you do it right where it isn't all "2nd gen b16 type-r cams"-ish then you should be fine, it should add to the look, not try to be the look IMO,

NICE..  Ive seen them installed and you can hardly tell they are covers.  If your car is a dark colour you wont be able to tell even at a few feet away.  I thought the same thing you are thinking, that it may be alittle cheap doing covers when you can probably find real mirrors.  But, the fitment is nice enough to get away with.

I think theyre rice as can be. My neighbor has those on his civic, ...they compliment his big aluminum wing.

I like them when they look OEM.

I'm a fan of the VW style on the new Golf, but that's probably pretty tricky to replicate aftermarket.

This is not what you call rice at all this is straight VIP shiat..And if you want to take to to the next level you buy the Mercedes benz and have them custom made into your Mirror or you can have custom covers made and molded around your oem covers..

I would say at the least half if not more are using these WInker Covers in Japan..just look at all the VIP cars on the net and in the magazines..

I say depending on how it flows with the rest of your car. I would do it but the parts I'm going with it will just add too much to the van. :p

EXACTLY! just about every VIP mag and pics from the net i've seen I would say about 90% have them. But i guess it would also depend on what car they're going on. In my case its a 1st gen GS

That's hardly fair...only one person spoke against it, and it's not their fault they don't like it and happen to be new.

I don't think you could label mirror lenses alone "Vip" when they're available on VW Rabbits.

It's more like "a popular trend amongst Vip enthusiasts" because of the link to Mercedes' pioneering use of that style. It used to be a feature that was only on high class cars because it was new tech, so older lux cars were getting updated, but I don't think there's anything especially Vip about it. I just think they look good.

Once they are around the VIP scene a little longer they will start to like them,,The whole VIP style is very addicting and just like addicting things you want more. SO when you think your done aahhh Mirror covers..WINK WINK. *).....Im not trying to stab anyone in the back, when I posted my original thread I thought to myself I dont think a senior member would post this type of thread and starts making me think hhhmmm about the post count again..I could be so wrong and Imsomniac could be an OG wanting some input..I just look at post count and assume they are new to the scene...and I guess I still consider Junior members as newbs still because it does not take much to get 100 posts. Does not matter what I post you will find fualt in anything I say..I say your stalking me. HEHEHeeee

I don't think zion's assertion that newbs tend to not like some of the more hardcore stuff that VIP has to offer is all that off. There's people who look at our cars and claim to love the style and live it, yet they look at the camber, the curtains, the tables and the winkers hahahahaha and just go "WTF??!?!?!?" so you can't really blame zion for that. 

so all in all iNS0MNiAC, get them and rock them hard people will either come around to like them or not and just make sure that as with anything else you make sure your execution is at it's best!!!!

I like'm they have more style and look OEM as opposed to the JMD craze.  LED side mirrors are more VIP IMHO. Don't see'um much on (RICE cars).I've only seen them on VIP Styled cars and expensive Euro's.

its oem on the 04 m45 so i dont see why it would be rice. but then again putting it on a honda might be kinda potato.  those u found on ebay are pretty good looking

I did this side mirror mods on my aristo 3 years ago back when the only side blinker mirrors were available ONLY to mercedes benz.  It was the coolest thing to do: get super expensive benz side mirrors, rig it so it will work on your toyota, and be the envy of the block.

But now I see it available on little cars like my Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris, and I kinda think that it loses its "vip" value....

That would be 2004.  My 02 Q45 has them stock  ;)

I just ordered some for my LS. Personally, I like the way they look.

I believe Jon's in Indonesia so things are a lil different...And I like them personally on especially on the large sedans but I'd have to have the  puddle lamps in them too.

i was debating the mythos mirror LED covers that i got or the JDM sidemarkers.... i am so glad that i got the mythos ones from robert @ luxury-bippu :) i think it's one or the other, if you rock mythos mirror LED covers then skip on the jdm sidemarkers and vice versa... just my two cents :) happy modding all!!!!

Anybody read or that can read japanese the Do it yourself article in VIP style mag for April? Even better was it was written up by a woman. Finished product looked very good too.

just ordered myself some W210 (E Class) LED mirrors with power folding feature! can't wait!

Well, my Benz comes with them (although I updated them to the 07 chrome ones), but for the Q I would if I didn't have the chrome President mirrors already (I created a fender solution for this though).  So I say go for it..completely to anyone who wants them.

It's too ricey for me, so don't buy it.  Cause I don't like it.  You'll see my bid on ebay for a set in a few minutes...LOL.

Get em...theyre hot.

I agree, one or the other..The mythos give more of an updated look over  the the sidemarkers .:thumbsup:

I like the led mirrors as well, to me its look a little more classy..anyways i've also found this

Its pretty cool it lights up how the new bmw 3 series, where it lights up underneath the mirror.  I'm tryin to get ahold of the mirrors, but its like $400 bux i think and they come already painted.  Also i wonder if its a direct replacement of the oem mirror, cuz if its ill just pop the us side mirrors from mine and swap it and put it onto these.

When you put them on do they look like a cover?  If everything matched up properly and they don't look like covers i'd get them...if my benz didn't already have them.

where can you get OEM Benz winkers? I wouldnt mind hacking them up to my OE q45 mirror.

I say go for it. As long as you get good quality it's not ricer at all.
