PSI to use / streched tires? >>>>>

[SIZE=4][COLOR=dimgray]How much air are you running in your tires.[/COLOR][/SIZE]
[SIZE=4][COLOR=dimgray]Most tires I have owned I have ran 35 psi. With stretched tires [/COLOR][/SIZE]
[SIZE=4][COLOR=dimgray]do you folks recommend 40 psi or is 35 fine? I have read that its good to [/COLOR][/SIZE]
[SIZE=4][COLOR=dimgray]keep stretched tires aired up a little more. [/COLOR][/SIZE]

I run 40psi

36-38 front
40-42 rear

36psi all round. Any more than that and the contact patch on the rear is reduced too much to be comfortable

Depends on the tires Dom.  But I know where you were going with that.  Too much air and you wear down the center too much, too little and you wear out the outside..etc.  But it depends on the tires and also what climate you live in.

I will be runnning plenty of camber front and rear and just trying to 
get the most life out of the tires..I know I will have to get the car allgined agian
once I put these on..:thumbsup:

40 for me too

I run about 42psi all around, all year long.

42psi..how is the ride? WHy did you decide to go higher than 40psi?
Just curious. trying to get as much info as possible=)
 
So it seems like  36-42 seems to be the range and 
40 seems to be what the majority so far are running.

If I may chime in with another question.... what correlation is there between the amount of stretch and the increase in air pressure? More stretch req. more psi?

I just went with 42 because I thought any little bit helps to prevent from bending a wheel, I could be wrong, in the meantime I haven't seen any uneven tire wear at 42psi for the past 9K miles.

[SIZE=3][COLOR=gray]when stretching tires it throughs off the specs of the normal tire specs, so normal psi will most likely cause me to burn through tires alot faster in the inside wall...[/COLOR][/SIZE]
[SIZE=3][COLOR=gray]plus with a little more psi I will have a little more clearance on the undercarrage and every little bit helps..I noticed with the stocks on I was scraping the bottom more when my tires went below 35 psi so if running 40 means a little more clearance and better tire wear than thats what I am looking for*)[/COLOR][/SIZE]

Actually what i mean is that because of the camber on the rear i only have about 75% of the tire tread on the road. At 40psi its about 60-65% because the additional air props up the corner of the tire!! :rolleyes: 
 
 
to tell the truth, i hadnt checked the pressure for a little while until last week - the tyres still looked/felt fine, but it turns out all 4 were at 31psi :eek: . But no problems with beads...

i run 38. higher pressure helps keep the wheels straight!

Front 42-44 psi.
Rear  40 psi
 
Im running higher psi in the front cause I got a lower "load rated" tire .
92 instead of 95.
 
Worked fine so far..........Going on my second set of tires.:thumbsup:

when it gets cold, the psi in the tire drops. just an fyi.
