2gs3 and mounting ballasts.
ok, for those of you that have 2nd gen gs300's, where did you mount your ballasts for your HID kits? i've got the xenon depot kit, and it's got like 10 inches max of wiring for the d2s plug. I am NOT going to extend this wire, i don't trust myself with that. i'm also wondering if there is anything i can move out of the way to mount the ballasts in the engine bay. post up pictures if you have them. thanks!

mount them near where the washer fluid container is on the frame. it require you to remove the bumper but is much cleaner than mount them in the engine compartment.
is okay to extend the wire, the wire that xenon depot use from battery to the 87 pin of the relay is not long enough. just use crimp on butt connectors or solder them if you feel unsafe.

No it was the wires that plug into the bulb that i didn't want to splice. 20k volts running through a hacked wire is not something i want to play with hehe.
I mounted one on my intake box (passenger) and the other above the washer fluid container like you said. They barely fit on both sides, but it works now. I just need to aim my headlights better and I'll take pictures.

haha i see, but i solder wires too from the ballast to the hid bulb. my friend's ballast went out, he don't have $ to buy a new one. so i gave him a toyota ballast and solder the wires on his audi. normally i don't recommend modifiy them after the ballast.
