iForged VIP ????

Hey guys I have been debating on what to get for my M45 and have been looking at all kinds of wheels. Right now my 3 fav have been the following:

Auto-Couture Fortress:

BBS LMs  .... but not possible to get the 20s in 5x114.3 so those are out the window.


My question is I know iForged are a custom wheel ... but for shows and such they will not be looked at as highly as the Auto Coutures correct ??? Since they are not JDM they wont get the points as much is what Im guessing. Anyone have input on this ????

Also anyone have ideas of wheels they think will look hot on the M45/Fuga ???

Some Linea Sports would look real good. I have mixed fillings about iForged wheels. Great quality but IDK just sumthin about them. Look on ebay when oyu get a chance you can find all types of wheels that might fit your style.

The problem I seem to be having with picking out a wheel is that the new M45 has such sporty lines to it even thou its a big body car ... so the sportier wheels seem to look better on to me.

What do you guys think of these ???

I aleays wanted a set of these........ well at least since they first came out a few months ago! Hahahaha!

I like them as they are sporty ... yet still have the big face feel to them ... I think they go well with the IMPUL kit as well.

Im just not sure how they will look as I cant find any pics of cars with them on ...the AC site only has pics of SUVs with them ....

i think whatever fits your liking when it comes to choosing a set of rims..i mean isnt that the whole point of building a "custom" car...to build it to fit you..not someone elses likings...and i dont think u should build it for show points...build it for yourself..just my lil input:thumbsup:

i dont think its a matter of JDM or not.. i think they're more american
than japanese, and if you're putting them on a japanese car or euro,
well i dunno...

its kinda like the HRE deal, everyone loves them, swears by them, and
says thats THE ONE!.. whats funny is i heard they were banned from
tracks for FAILING on the track.. 

i think HRE/ American Racing / IForge, looks good on US cars.. like muscle cars..
mustangs, corvettes, GTO's, etc..

like HRE in polished with polish lips on a vette is SICK.. but on a c-class? i duno.. 
thats just my feel... im sure theres people who disagree

whatever you pick, make sure you get some GOOD FAT LIP and a GOOD FAT FIT.

there's nothing more money wasting than to spend thousands of dollars on a set of multi wheels only to get a tiny lip, so disappointing. 

some of the clublexus dudes are getting a sniff of this backlash.

I'm not personally crazy about the iForged stuff, but for (probably) different reasons from others. I don't think any of their designs really can be classified as "VIP," so there's that consideration if you're building a VIP car.

Point of reference on the Auto Couture forged three-piece wheels; they are made here in San Diego, California by Modular Society. If you're looking for a "JDM" wheels, they aren't really...

Also, for the record, HREs were never banned from any tracks; I've had detailed discussions with the VRL (Viper Racing Club), PCA (Porsche Club of America) and several race track venues and none were aware of any ban on specific brands of wheels; some clubs require inspections of wheels (race wheels aren't meant to last 7 seasons of racing, they are wear/fatigue items, like tires & brakes).

For what it's worth, I'd rather have a forged three-piece wheel than one with a cast center (most of the JDM wheels are cast). Ultimately, it doesn't matter that much for a street car, but I think most judges these days recognize a custom-built/custom-offset wheel versus a "generic offset" wheel; if you want the ultimate look, specify your own widths and offsets and have the wheels built to your specs. 

Also, the US-made wheels can have inner/outer rim components replaced most of the time if they get bent or damaged; the Japanese wheel manufacturers will sell only complete wheels, not individual rim parts. The ability to change/swap/widen/narrow the Japanese rims in the future is not really there.

Personally Im really feeling those wheels on the GS also because they are step lip as well. Anyone know where to get them ????

my thoughts exactly. why would someone spend that much and still have them fit like a cheap one piece wheel? At least when i order Asanti's for customers i measure it all out and make sure theyll fit right and be worth the 5 g's haha.

as for Iforged not getting as many points at shows...VIPcars arent about that. if thats why youre building one then please, stop now.

I was really disapointed with how heavy they are ... they where 30lbs a wheel for 19s !!! vs my forged CE28Ns that are 18lbs ....

My friend Riley has a set of 22" ACs on his G35 (too big IMO) but still they only weighted in at 23lbs a wheel .... huge difference in weight. If they are both forged Im not sure exactly how the wheel weight can be so different :confused:

I agree I would def want better fitment ...


As for VIP cars and shows ... your missing my point .... I always build a car for me and no one else, however I do take in consideration when spending thousands of dollars on a purchase the show aspect of a part. I enjoy going to shows and showing my cars as well as tracking them (but VIP cars you cant really track like I did with my old Evo).

I had the I-forged Aero on my Supra back in the day, kinda shitty pic and the angle is kinda funny but its the only one I  have on my computer.

they have really shitty customer service, and the rivets actually started to oxidize which I was super unhappy about.

Yes I do agree they have awful customer service ... I think Im going to get the Linea L450s ... now its a matter of figuring out the offsets ...
