well dropped off my ride on monday to get my kit installed at house. and they sent me 

some pics of the finish product. i can't wait until i pick up my ride! getting air suspension

on your ride really motivates me to speed up my project VIP. im planning to dump it on 

19s. with the aimgain euro kit by this winter. oh im also thinkin twice about my stock color.

Looks awesome. I agree with Oscar on that one. I want to see it in person. If you go with the Aimgain Euro kit make sure you get the same wheels as Oscar to accent the body as a whole ;)

yup stock struts it is! hopefully i'll throw some insurance coilovers to the setup in the near

future. i think the stance has to do with the tire/wheel size. im only rolling on stock 17'' wheels and i think dee has 19

yea, but you have absolutely no "easy" adjustability compared to air, which comes in handy here in the States with our roads and dips and so on...so no, he shouldn't have done the coilover route :pat:

The roads in Japan are SO nice. That is why so many VIP cars are on coilovers and will barely clear a road reflector.

i know someone that drove lower than you with coilovers and had 18's. also in cali, LA to be exact. look at bippu_ten's gloria, thats him. shit, his front bumper hits the reflectors on the freeway when changing lanes

Very nice, when you get it back could you post pics of the install? I've been looking into the UAS kit for awhile, but i was concerned with how low it drops the frontend, in those pics it looks pretty low, but like others said, it could be low because of the wheels that are on them.

yea i had the same problem too, i was also concerned that i wouldn't get a good drop in

the front because of the UAS bags, it also showed on UAS picture gallery. but they said 

they fixed that problem by cutting the lower spring perch on the front. it drops it a lot, 

maybe about 2''-3'' more but then you can never go stock unless you buy new spindles.

the picture doesn't really show the slam because im running on stock wheels. but if im 

rollin on some 19s then i think it would drop it a bit more.

they should give u a set of silencers when u leave....see if u can get the 1/2 to 1/4 reducers

I disagree. When coilovers are able to go lower than air then you should have gone coilovers.

What the point in air? To go really low. So it's pointless if coilovers will go lower. If you're worried about scrapping stuff grow some balls.

IMO there's rarely a need to adjust height. My last y33 was probably one of the lower ones on this site, and probably the lowest one on this site on coilovers. I didn't scrape much, just the exhaust, and who cares about that. 

The whole, ruining the heads thing is a myth imo, since the point of contact on the ehxaust is not the cats themselves but further back. 

Anyway, Air can certinally go lower than coilovers, but it's not easy and takes a lot of custom work (take onetones car for example). Generally from what I have seen (especially in the US) most cars on coilovers are lower (up front) than cars on air, or have the ability to go lower i should say.

Who said anything about 1.5" of strut travel? I had full travel on my coilovers as low as it was. Ask anyone who rode it that car the ride was incredible for the height it was at.

Maybe you should refrain from posting your thoughts about subjects you have no/limited experience with.

I'm done aruing about how my car rode man, You never rode in it, so you can't possibly know. Me and several other members of this forum have and all can vouch for how it rode, hell the current owner is a member I'm sure he'll chime in and confirm that the car rides wonderfully, it has full suspension travel, and in fact the cusco's are not blown..

I know all of this information is just blowing your mind, becuase you have never done anything like that, but everyone has always told you other wise, and like a sheep you listened to them. It's ok maybe one day you'll do something against the gain or something people said can't be done (much like your doing now). haha It can be done it, has been done.

all I have to do it re-adjust my NON BLOWN full tap coilovers and snap up some pics. it's 2.5 inches away from tsuraichi and I have about 4 inches of drop left.

So I can go beyond kissing the lip.

ok lets stay back on topic now... the UAS setup is surprisingly smooth and it still felt like a luxury car, BUT unfortunately my rear shocks are about done now. i notice this because i had a couple of passengers in the rear seat riding with me on ride height and we hit a slight dip and they started bouncing up and down everywhere. as for the front of the vehicle i didn't notice much just like it was stock but everytime i look back i see them going up and down. i already hit 128,xxx miles and they are the original shocks. im not sure when your suppose to replace them but i guess thats my problem :pat: . other than the blown shocks it rides good and the 1/2'' lines are fun when you wanna dump it on somebody (especially in socal). but i also have those reducers that slow down the dump and noise. really quiet and soft. im hoping to get a reply back from UAS about the new struts/shocks they got with job design.

What do you mean you didn't know how long this would take? Jus be happy you didn't have to wait over 3months for your suspension and another 3 for your kit! I'm not complaining, I'm jus saying, when you buy products from Japan customs is a bitch and nothing is cheap and everything comes with a long anticipating wait!!! Yea, we'll have to chat this Sat.! I'm soooooo excited to meet all you guys! BTW- I'm not hating on UAS at all I just felt safer buying a kit that I new was a direct fit for my car and was getting brand new struts!

yea i know what you mean, i DD my ride and i always have my son in the back, so safety

was always the main concern for a reliable setup. the name universal kinda got me to but

everything was done at the right place. the install looks great and they answered all my

questions and helped me with everything. i just wish they would open up a UAS shop in 

SD, so i won't have to drive all the way to San Bernardino.

Actually my car rarely scraped. The thing post people don't realize is that a car CAN be low as shit and still daily driven w/o too much trouble. (I think you of all people here should know this ;-)

To start:
 I am the new owner of the car being discussed. It is now my daily and  i drive it where ever i go and have next to no issues getting around, this includes the city i live in the country back roads i frequently drive and larger places like Richmond or Roanoke for example; Richmond being one that i hate b/c the roads are crap in a normal car let alone one that is lower. 

 The cusco's are not blown. Period.  There is now bobbing, bouncing, leaky fluid suction noises coming from these coilovers. This i should know b/c before i even bought the car i had first hand interaction with them and the day after i brought it home while putting the new brakes on it i was looking to see how much LOWER the car could go.

 Me personally i would like to see the car a bit lower and need to get a set of spacers for the fronts. Sure now it scrapes from time to time but so what?!?! i have no issues getting where i need to go and the car looks good where its at ;but again it could be lower...

 The ride, ohh the ride. I don't think it could get any better than this, then you take into account that i cant clear the peak in the middle of  what all know as a flat road.... ya man the ride is great. I was worried i was just dreaming that this car rode so well since i was only comparing it to my MR2 that is as low as the coils will allow + some and other modified or track oriented cars that just so happen to roam the streets now and then around here. But that was simply put to sleep (lol) when I had Jodi's Mom fall asleep in the back seat during our 20 min ride home after lunch.... on a twisty back road by the way only to be awoken when i pulled onto her gravel drive. 

 jzz30tt is a man if his word; and experience you can trust and beckon upon when needed. When i was talking with him about this car he divulged as much information about what was "wrong" with it I think was possible for him; in the sense that he know's me and how picky about shit that i tend to be... ya  im really picky about shit; i think its a sickness but who the hell cares. Point is i like my shit to be right, that's it, there is no exception. Period.

so anyway i hope this clears a few things up. 

 QoozyFoozy how many times do you have to put the same link to a thread??? i just don't get it yes the fronts are to the bottom as he said but then again like the picture shows on that thread you insisted on reposting about 50 times the rears still have another inch to drop or even more if you don't care about ride and gank the helper springs and spacers out... so whats the point with that... all i know as far as the travel goes is that i can have ~175lbs or so od dive gear in the trunk with 2 passengers only scrubb the tops of the tire in the rear fender wells when i hit deep dips doing 55-75mph...

No need to take offense, i wasnt directly speaking about you. Just an attitude ive noticed more often here that seems to go on a lot on zilvia as you know. I mean, yea my 240 is dumped, im on the 3rd exhaust and 3rd front bumper/lip but its not something I really wanna brag about IMO. Its like everyone has to one up eachother on whos the lowest on coils, or who has the most lip, or who has the most stretch ETC. Hopefully my LS will go from low to super low status soon.

jzz, save your breath. there are people like oneton, and you, and dom, and yakotas13, etc... that do it, have done it, and have experience / backgrounds. then there are the internet car 'enthusiast' that come here with the same trash month after month. hell- we finally got people to realize that negative camber isn't the anti-christ. there are hardcore people all about style, then there are tamer people with a different style. with the increase in air system providers, the euro / vw tuners have had to approach the very same issue. now the hardcore euro groups (like f.a.r or fuck air ride) are sperating themselves from the air-ride show cars. i for one have more respect for them. others seem to think its crazy to ride that low... i guess the difference is that some have the dedication, enjoy the 'hardcore' aspect, and can afford to do it and not freak out.

Yea, I definatly hear that... Can't wait to see your car man, You've had some very nice wheels set up on the 240 that's for sure. 

I would really like to have an air suspension like onetons, Infact I would love to run that set up, where full up is lower than 90% of people.. haha that's what up. I honestly don't know enough about air sus do take on such a project yet, I'm still doing my homework on it.

i don't think anyone is too good for anything. it's all personal preference. i don't bag uas cause i've never tried it. but if you wanna hit 5+ air, that's all you. if your car can pancake 5 times before mine hits the ground, good for you as well. like i said, different strokes for different folks. i like lowriders but i aint gon front like my car is one just cause i'm on air.

To me it's not about who has more experience, it's about buying an air sus that is reliable! And from what I've seen, heard and so on, I liked Air Runner the best! (Bolt on kit and brand new struts!)

Besides I 've been friends w/ AF for years now and I know that they have installed Air Runner on many cars so the trial and error of what can go wrong or how to fix something is better!
If I lived close to UAS and was good freinds I would support them w/ they're system, might later change to Air Runner but still! j/K Hahhahaha!

I mean for the most part, i can't hate on UAS because i've never experienced the air suspension but i mean why would i want to purchase another air suspension just to see what it's all about when i already have air suspension that i'm satisfied with. I'm sure anybody who has air would say the same, unless they're ballers and can afford to go through different types of air suspension just to test it out.
 
But yeah this arguement between whose air suspension is better is endless yo. If you like your air suspension and are satisfied with it then that's good for you. We'll all keep it at that, no sense in saying yours is better or making debates on "can your air suspension do this or that..." who cares what it can or can't do. It does what it does and i'm fine with it. So folks, that is my final thought. On a major note, i'm lookin forward to meeting alot of you guys this upcoming weekend at the VSC meet. CLANKITY CLANK!!

I have no problems with UAS because i use to work with those guys way back in the days when we all worked for a company called EAI= Excentrix Auto innovations and i use to own the Hack shack in San Diego which did most of the imports for air suspension.  So dont give me this who knows more crap because u dont even know me!  I know Zack and Richard over there at UAS and the reason i dont sell it because i promise to stick to Airrunner just like how PG motoring promotes UAS and not Airrunner.  This isnt a debate of which shop is better or which product is better... So please dont involve us because u dont know us.  I use to work for Reds Hydrolics in San Diego and if u didnt know Airrunner came from REDS Hydrolics Japan so please dont try to drop knowledge on stuff u really dont know.  If you like UAS thats kewl we at Autofashion dont care and if people ask me i send them to UAS if thats what they want. I JUST DONT SELL IT!!!!!!  So please stop putting my name with PG Motoring or put UAS with Airrunner its up to the customer to decide which one they want.

That is a statement well put by Freddie. I will have to totally agree with that. There will always be comparisions between owners about who has the "superior" parts. It is natural for people to say that what they have is better. The bottom line is that, if it works well and the owner enjoys it, that's all that matters.
 
Let's me get this straight. We don't have any problems with Air Runner or Autofashion. They just run a different ship then we do and we could totally respect that. Big ups to them for what they do. I understand that because we are different shops selling different things, we will always be pitted against each other. We don't have a problem working through that. The fact is, if a customer comes to us and wants Air Runners or something we don;t have, i will gladly point them towards Autofashion or anyone that has it. If it is something that we don't carry, we're not gonna front like we know or have it. We're here to give our customers a good knowledge of what we know.
 
Let's just leave it at that and STOP this debate.

Cali Style on top of that..... If im in the hood I don't roll my windows up and turn down my stereo....I hit that switch and make the ass drop..... that's just the way I do it.....
Im not trying to be VIP.... why you think I don't have curtains and a fusa.....I just like some aspects of it...... I like clean cars regardless of what style....as long as its clean.....I think nowadays peeps just get to focused on trendy things......

i hear ya man, im more of a lowrider old school kinda cruiser too. but you know it's all 

personal preference though so i ain't hatin. since i didn't have money at the time for 

airrunners i went with UAS. but im happy for what i payed for and everythings all good.

well i just hit over 700 miles eversince i got my ride and that wasn't too long ago either

everythings still going smooth and no problems with leaks. what i did notice though is 

that the lower i went, the ride of the car became a lot better. but i have to update again 

after i switch to the KYB SR's.
