How am I gonna fit my wheel?

posted this on luxuryjcars but it seems there's a LOT of new people since my last visit over a year ago. I'm just curious to see what kind of responses i'll get here and the responses i got off the other site. Hate or love it, tell the truth!

shaped the metal using a dolly and hammer and grind to fit...

tacked on the flare for the door...had to shape this piece by hand because when i cut the trim off the BMW fender, i cut it in pieces instead of cutting it off, then trimming...

grinded down the welds and put a coat of primer to prevent rust until i get around to the bondo...still need to weld a pieces of sheet metal to attatch the inner fender to the outer...

started out with a green styrofoam block from wal-mart

cut and sanded to get the piece shaped

i think a little less arch on it (like jutting out wise) and it would be 100%

But regardless, it looks good

wow looks good! the first time I saw your car with those wheels i was amazed! 
 
on the bottom part of the flare that you used the foam from walmart is an good idea but i dont think it holds up to resin. I know that fiberglass Hawaii has urethane foam for shaping thats made fro doing what you are trying to do but you have to buy the whole sheet.. I have some if you need some.. I bought the whole sheet to fabricate my grill and hood spoiler and mid wing on my XB I can spare some for you.. Hit me up if you need.

yeah i hear ya, i like it if there was a little less arch too...BUT, this was tricky.  The dog leg (narrow part of the fender bellow the door) had to be welded to the existing dog leg because it has a set place on the car.  the rear bumper could be altered to anything so it didn't really matter how far the end can come out in relation to the bumper...the bumper part of the flare could have came out some and lessen the arch but that would mean the two ends of the flare would not line up stright.  it would look as if the flares were more out in the rear and in near the dog leg part.  it's hard to explaing but myself and a friend had to make a tought decision of keeping the ends of the flare straight instead of the bumper end of the flare being bowed outward.

thanks for the offer man, but the green foam i used at wal-mart held up like a champ...

The fronts fit, unless Dennis is going to fit some crazier offset Garson's on the front.  Looking good man, but I told you already..haha.  Now to finish the other side!

That's a crazy ass rear! What are the specs? IMO it's looking good, but I would probably try and get a more aggresive front to match the rear. But I'm not complaining! Keep it up!

Well at first Dennis I was confused but now I tottally understand. I honesetly think its comming out great..little work needed smoothing it out but I am sure the finished product will look insane..any plans to do that to the front as well??? I know I got my work cut out for me but this time I will have to wussy out and have someone who knows what they are doing work on my fenders.

yeah, the fronts will be flared out too but nothing like the rears...that will prolly be the easiest part of this whole project...prolly take about 1/2 a day with a hammer, dolly and some bondo...

Going to get some different offsets for the front then or just run spacers?
