NEW previa owner.. check in
i just picked up a 91 previa. damn i want to lower /slam it. but do u guys think that i should just cut the springs to get a 3-4 inches drop. because i don't plan on doing bags or anything for a long while. it's a daily for picked up and delievery. and ill be putting some wheels on there too, any suggestion with offset and size i should go with?
i am not looking to look extreme tilted rear wheels VIP status. just a drop with some dish wheels. any suggestion is welcome.
ill post up pix when i take pix.
UPDATE
finally got some pic up...yeah this van was pretty beat.. in and out.. the outside was dirty. both front and rear bumper was torn/crack in many place.. it was out of color too... inside was pretty filthy, the guys who owned it was a mechanic.. he took care of the car mechanical wise, but still man!! ... damn he was pretty lazy about cleaning the van, and keepin it looking clean. so when i got it the first night, me and my girl clean it, in and out.. did the best we can. and after this few weeks. inside is clean, all my buddies love the egg. We got so much space when we went clubing.. to the beach.. damn.. the van now loks like this... i also recently installed sound.. kenwood. I got plan for this. i should make this the van the best deliever and daily van possible, and of course i got many inspiration from fellow VSC ppls here with their eggs.. i really want to take it slow.. i want to go Air with paint job, redo the interior, and lastly some nice wheels to go with it. for now im running on my bro's GS wheels on their.. or possibly something bigger when i find a deal...

welcome
for a delivery vehicle, I'd say go 17x7 +40-ish, or you could also get 18" if you want the look. 19's are becoming the norm, but you'd probably damage them depending on what you'll use the van for. I'd wait for the experts to chime in, tho

I'd go with a width between 8.0 - 8.5 . I'm running some 19x8 +38 with tires 225/35 R19. I don't believe there are springs that go low enough to be pretty low so I say cut the springs. Or get some cusco coilovers. See the thread below for cut springs.

I would highly recommend investing in a good set of Coil-Overs.....cuts springs will only excellerate the blow out of your shocks. Also the ride quality will be terrible. Many companies have good Coil-Over set-ups for the Previa. TEIN Super Wagon (adjustable dampening), Bold World...would list more but too many "Senior Moments" lately. In the long run you will be happy that you went the Coil-Over set up instead of going the cut spring route. Right now I am wishing that I went AIR when I was comtemplating buying the TEIN Super Wagon Suspension....could of saved some moneis buy doing it "right" the first time around. Good luck and have fun with the EGG.

Ok. To save time, just go through {-.-} our VSC Vendor. Shipping is quick and price is fair. Our chassis model is TCR10. Alot of the shops/distributors are boneheads. They won't know what to order unless you have a part number. I'll post up some links but I like the Cusco Vacanza coilovers or HKS.

how much are the cusco coilovers?
just a quicky question with regards to "air bags" hows the ride quality? I mean is it bouncy when its full of people? (with regards to our eggs). Reason is that I cut my oem stock coils and its bouncy when its full of people.
I am saving up for something...but I dont know if I want to go air or coilovers...I need to sell my car first so that i can start making my previa looking a bit nicer :)

yes i also wanted to know how the air set up would ride.. because i know alot of the coilover spring rate is really high. or when its lowered all the way.

nice egg!!!
I am in the same situation as you...I am using my previa as a delivery/daily but I want to put a sub box and air..but do not want to lose cargo space in the back.
I dont know if that is possible...maybe if I go air, I can put the tank on the spare wheel area outside?? I dont know...
but first things first...need to sell my car so I can start with this :)
ps: what front bumper do you have? looks like a wald..

yes.. i do need space for the cargo, i m in the tires business... so everybody .. hit me up for full line of falken , nitto, pirelli, cooper, and other offbrands..in all sizes..
well I actually have the front and rear both modified.. because the size part was hanging way too low, the curve i guess..so i cut it. and sand it. it's lok better now in the pix. i have no idea what that kit is. but it looks clean to me. I will def get a hold of the headlights and tails.. and fogs to go with it.

oh..well that rear bumper looks stock haha, never knew that it was aftermarket.
I need a front bumper (aftermarket), because I am planning on picking up shawn's current rear and side skirts...if he still hasnt thrown them out yet.
speaking of shawn..how is he? shawn...where are youuuu? haha

Shawn just been a bit busy but he is on here. As for the bags, they ride smooth in my opinion and with the Air Runner shocks I can adjust the dampening. As for the tank/compressor location, my plan was to remove the spare tire holder and place everything under there.

if I used my kyb gr2 shocks...with bags ie: UAS (not airrunner). How does the ride feel? like stock or bouncy or firm? I dont mind firm or stock..as long as not bouncy, because currently mine are bouncy from cut springs haha.
Is there enough space under the car for all the air stuff but still keep the spare tire?
Man..I really want to sell my car, but no one wants to buy it haha.

Well I suggest you get the KYB AGX shocks if applicable since it seems like the same setup as air runner. This way you can adjust the dampening versus the GR2 which is whats recommended OEM when replacing factory struts/shocks. If you look under the van, theres alot of space but since you want to keep the spare, you'll probably only have a skinny 3gal tank or just get one of those pancake compressors.

If you are planning on keeping the spare you might want to look at running everything in the rear bumper. You should be able to fit a 3 gallon tank (Cylinder) as well as your compressor. If you do this set up I would highly recommend that your tank be Aluminum. Only problem with this set up is that if you get rear ended......not a good picture.
For myself I removed the spare because 1) Extra weight and 2) Rolling with 19 inch tires and your stock is only 15 inch.....if I had a flat.....it would be worthless anyways. LOL

You will need to contact KYB to see if they have an application.

Thank you for the replies guys!! I really appriciate it...and I hope ffgarage does not mind that im posting here :)
I do not think that KYB made AGX's for our previas....but I could be wrong. Last time I checked, it was not available.
So I guess with the GR2's and UAS..the ride will not be nice?
Also, the reason why I want to keep the spare was just in case of a flat...but as what Sukoshiyoshi mentioned...") Rolling with 19 inch tires and your stock is only 15 inch.....if I had a flat.....it would be worthless anyways. LOL"
makes a good point!!! :)
In anycase...I need to sell my car first so that I can do something to the van...but this helps alot!! Thank you again. Much appriciated.
With regards to audio: is there a way to have a sub and nice sound system without sacrificing the cargo? Like if I put a box..then my cargo is gone..right?
