Decals on your windows??Comments

So whats your opinion on window decals on cars..I was wanting to get this veilside decal for my rear windshield and perhaps the front. I did a photochop of it on my car..I think it looks pretty cool...

I always thought decals are cool but it always seemed to give more of a sporty look than an elegance look.

Here is my car Photochoped with the veilside decal..I also have Virtual modded the car for the next phase in my project..Aero kit with quad pipes...So with this style that I am after the decal seems to complement the style...

I think it takes away from the car. Especially if its on the rear windshield. All my attention just went to the window instead of the wheels, ride height etc.

IMO I think it does take away from some of the class depending on how it's down! I think that if a company is sponsoring you or helping you out in some way than ok, but if not than nah! I admit though, when I bought my first mod (JP fusa & Kintsuna) I added the JP sticker to my lower windshield! I also added my hard to get AutoFashion stickers on the sides to support and represent! I also think it's ok if let's say you have the kit and all the parts they offer! Hehehehehehe! :giggity:

I have one sticker and its my cousin's shop's sticker that I put in the lower driverside of my windshield. I figured I'd help out the family since they help with getting my tires mounted. No sponsors here, but at times if someone were to sponsor me with some tires, I may not mind rocking their sticker, but I think all of my stickers, if there were more, they'd all line up on the lower corners of the windshield.

Very nice touch. I have seen the small CimaV8 emblems mounted on the rear pillars of some cars, I think it comes like that factory, if so, your scripts make it look oem and I dig it.

Little side window stickers are fine. As long as they are not over a couple inches tall and about 5 inches long. Anything like a banner on the windshield or rear window takes away from the car. I think a luxury car should have little to no vinyl on thier car.

I don't find nothing wrong with window decals as long as you are rocking or reppin what it is. For the most part, i have an Auto Fashion sticker on my back passenger windows and love em.

I would go with others an say if your not rocking a sponsor. I like the small cima script or any smaller sticker for that matter.

Anything that doest take away from your whip.

Maybe u can try other colors decal such as gold color to have the ghost effect. That way your sticker would not be that appealing.

Do you actually have any veilside parts?

I still like the oldschool vip rear window decals, like ALL JAPAN DRESS UP FAMILY etc, but not something like veilside etc.

Dom, he has VeilSide wheels, but I think that's it. I used to run that banner on my windshield, but only because of VeilSide sponsoring me at the time (aero & accessories). I only run sponsor stickers if anything. On a VIP car it takes away from the elegance. I'll run my crew and my shop/sponsors..but even then it's done more indiscreet and elegant and only for actual sponsors.

Zion, that one looks too sporty...

I think a nice elegant one would be nice but on the front windshield on top. and not too big.

I put the JP decal with the letters in silver across my top windshield and I cant see my self taking it off....it looks badass up there

Yeah I agree it does look sporty...and like widebody_Q said it draws to much attention to it and takes away from the wheels and what not...

I have wanted to put a JP decal on the front winshield infact I have seen the JP decals that glow in the dark in red green and blue..I have been tossing the idea of going with the green but I am not sure if it will look corny in the night...(not glow as bright as the pic)

It's like a flow chart. It starts for me with:
Do I have parts from this company - yes/no
If yes, do I want to show this off and advertise for this company for free? - yes/no
If yes, do they have an aesthetically pleasing decal/logo? - yes/no

If yes to all of these, then I would put the sticker on.

But on a purely 'looks' basis, I think the VeilSide banner is very nice, and makes the car look a bit wider because of the wing shape. It's also a very recognized brand, that people are impressed by.

I will be honest with you bro..I have no idea about what companies are racing and drift..alls I know is I like the wheels so much and the lips on these are awsome..3.5" front and 5.5" rear and thats the main reason I bought them as well as I know I most likely will not see another Q with them as they are discontinued...that = value to me....This is the first Car styling that has lead me to forums..I never used forums before VIP style...but I have learned alot of info from you guys..

I would say no if they're not sponsoring u in some way. Im totally against free advertising

I run big decals (bigger than I have to) but I like the company....and they pay for all my tires

Decals on anywhere but the windshield give it that sporty feel. I'd just put a JP banner on the front windshield or in your case, the Veilside banner on the front. The Quad tips would be a good idea. Dual exit exhausts are so sexy.

How do u guys differentiate between sporty and elegance stickers?? What happens if JP stickers were placed instead of the current posted one. Size? Design? or simply the brand name?

The size of the sticker and the font used in the logo make it either elegant or sporty.

Just so there is no argument. I took measurements from areas on top outer edges of the windshield and from the center of the grill. Okay, so it's a smidgen off...no big deal. The picture is not totally centered so the small amount it is off looks more noticable in the picture:
