People in my town are very friendly.

Ever since I bought my latest wheels and have added camber to the rear. People keep pulling up next to me and honking their horn to tell me that my wheels are about to come off. They're just too friendly and its almost making me uneasy whenevr I drive my car because I can't go one trip without someone tyring to get my attention to tell me about the wheels. Even the thugs are saying "Ey young, yo wheels bout to fall off!". Grandma at the gas station "Did you know your wheels are coming off?" Security guard at work "You better tighten up those wheels." Next door neighbor "I think you should check your wheels, they don't look safe to drive on." Today during lunch, an old guy in his Jeep Wrangler at the light behind me, gets out of his Jeep, walks up to my right rear wheel and then slips on some oil or something in the road, almost falls, comes back around my driverside, knocks on my window, and asks "Are your wheels supposed to be bent up like that?" I say "Yup. Thanks though." He says, "Ok cool." Man, he was the 1st person really to go out of his way. I can appreciate all the help, and I can understand if they feel I might be dangering everyone's safety, but its almost getting to the point where I want to get rid of my wheels and get something wide, but without the camber. Any thoughts?

LOL.  They will all get used to it after a month or two.  People will tell other people and when they actually see your car they will know not to bug you.  Just hang in there.

Change your plates to read "Camber"
At least then they should realise its intentional.
 
Funny i guess people arent as friendly in Sydney. Only my family members have asked me if my suspension is ok....

Well, I always wanted this look and I doubt I'll let these people force me to switch the wheels up, but its just sometimes annoying when they are going out of their way to flag me down, even though I know they have good intentions. And when I mean, my town its actually a large proximity since I commute with this car from MD to VA about 30 miles each way on the 495 beltway, and lately its been a lot of attention near my work area where there's mostly corporate employees that are giving the worried or strange looks. I think near my home people are getting the idea, but then again I think they aren't as friendly in MD than in VA. Thugs and homies in MD, white collar guys in VA. I thought about changing my license plates up to fit the look more, CAMBER is not a bad idea, hehe. I even thought of LOWSTYL at one point so people would know. Ah well, this is just me ranting and I appreciate everyone's input. :smiley:

I do actually, everytime I park and I'm walking away, I can't stop looking, I'm walking into things too its funny, almost getting hit by cars in the parking lot or me walking into cars.

I always seem to have my gf to remind me when i am doing it. Usually a big whack on the arm. I am currently looking at how to get more camber in the front. I am going to try the Silvia suspension route, now that i have seen what is involved...

I've yet to run into any police officers, but there was one cop on a motorcycle who had just pulled over someone. When I passed him he stopped what he was doing and took his shades off to stare for awhile, I wonder what he'd do if he hadn't pulled anyone yet.

Probably a citation...  but he needs to call that in and look into the "guide book of how to ticket unusally cool looking cars"...LOL

Can you get tickets for wheels outside the guards where you are? Thats the one I am worried about.
 
Got stopped the other day... well didnt get stopped but after i parked they stopped, got out and started walking around my car. Luckily my mum was there because you can tell the cop wanted to get nasty. Couldnt quite figure out what to say about the wheels, but finally said "they are too big" i asked what he meant, and he looked at the tyres and said "see, they are 18" rims... show me the tyre placard... See, your car only has up to 15" standard. They are too big."
 
But he let me off without a ticket, telling me to change my wheels. Screw that i'm changing the tyre placard!!!

If you have that much camber how big is the contact patch on your tires? I had my rear camber adjusted a lil but I am not riding nearly wide wheels. Definately a sticker "Yes, they are supposed to look like that!"

Keep it the way it is Benji, your ride is off the chizzy (on my wallpaper!!!). I think the license plate change would definately keep people from asking dumb questions.

haha i got so much of that crap. Especially when i lived in a hick town (lynchburg) and every kid with a honda would tell me i needed to buy a camber kit to fix the camber.. (this was when i was running 8+ degrees on my G50)

I enjoyed it. It was humerous. I loved looking in my rear view at stop lights watching poeple make angles with their hands and point to my car to the passenger in their car. 

Just be happy you have such an effect of peoples lives! 

You will noticed though the only times people think it's "unsafe" is when your car is standing still. It doesn't look as bad when you are moving.

Yea, it's funny when I see them make the tilted hands gesture. Today's observation: trucker guy honking his loud ass horn at me to look over to see him pointing at my wheels, then shakes his head in disgust for not pulling over or something.

u should have ur pocket camera ready when anyone honks u and pointing at ur wheels !! and shoo their face post it here !

Wow, Australian rules are strict!
It's really illegal to have larger than stock wheels?

It used to be +2" on the largest diameter rims offered for the car (on the tyre placard)
Thats the rule he quoted me on, but he is incorrect, 
 
Now it is +1" wider than the widest standard wheel, any diameter rim as long as the total wheel + tyre combo is the same diameter as stock
 
This is why i am looking for a Nissan placard that has 17x9 on it. Would make my current wheels "legal"
