The CLS by ASMA is definately not VIP styled, waaaay to aggressive, the "US VIP" isn't all that VIP at all, the only apparent mods to the car are a color matched set of 22's. As for the 'Indo Style,' its looks hot, but I wouldn't call it VIP if I saw it. Jap-style, theres no picture so I can't tell. [i]This[/i] is a true VIP style CLS:

nice comparison! In general, it seems like the majority of these groups are heading in these directions.

you can always count on the americans to be the worst, gawdiest, most tasteless style among them alll. :)

I love the Indo style, cramming wicked wheels into anything, then slamming it to the ground, and always so clean.
That's definitely my inspiration.

I think this is a pointless thread, you could take some ricer ass car you saw in japan and put it next to a well done american car and say how bad the japanese are at tuning (of course this is not the case) have you ever considered that we see more american cars than we do Japanese... sure you can pick a handful of the worst dub rides in the states and say how ugly they are but if you look around more you find that the US has some great cars as well, some people over here know how to tune a car others don't the same goes for every other country. There are people who take the time and money to build a nice car and others who just throw s*** on and call it a day. The US is a modified melting pot between old school classics/ hotrods/ ratrods/ muscle cars/ the euro scene/ the jdm scene/ the vip scene and on and on and on sure its nice to see how different countries see the same car, but you also have to remember that whoever put down the money for the car made the choice in the end, it does not mean that all american cars are bad... look on this site, there are plenty of nice US rides that could hang with the best anyday!

uhm, just a quick comment about the first CLS, i don't think that can be classified as Indonesian Style. IMO indonesian style or south jakarta style would have classier look, no bodykit or maybe just a simple lip kit, elegant muffler. nice set of classic looking wheels e.g. carlsson 1/16, brabus monoblock ect. and the car definately has to be low. When i say low, it is low due to the spring being cut not airsuspension.. 

 i know the owner of the CLS, he drove an accord euro before and he did a really damn good job to the euro but I think His cls is heavily influenced by the american style..

exactly. most of the indonesian cars are simple and bold in my opinion. this would have been a better pic of an indo car.

indonesian's can pull off vip with anythin it seems......they do a true vip style with stuff the US and japan wont try....i love it :)

not allof them shawn, in indonesia we call this as "south jakarta style".. this has existed long before vipstyle is introduced to the indo's modified scene.

Thats funny and pretty dissapointing how you view the US. Pretty obnoxious if you ask me... the real history of it all would trip you out if you'd just take the time to disect it. 

I was getting frustrated with US tuning even before I saw real Vip and Indo, JDM, all that stuff...
The part I didn't like is that it everything always followed the same formula, no matter what the trend. For a while with drifting it was Super Advan three spokes, or red old schoolers, or primer, or with lowriders and DUBs it was Lexani, then TIS, and no matter what time of month it was, if you weren't following THE trend you were a poser or out of style. At least Asian style is more free and moving differently, which is why I like seeing that flavour added here and there, even though Vip and Indo tend to be trend/formula driven just like any other style.

As with most other cars in the u.s. DUB scene, the wheels are tacky and look worse than stock.

also the car looks raised and that never looks good.

There some nice looking cars in those galleries. I also noticed some Dub and Tuner style cars, just like the ones I see here in the U.S.

LOL, you know. This is too funny. You guys went on 2 Indonesian car tuner sites. The first site (Permaisuri.com) pretty much encompasses the WHOLE Indonesian car culture from Indonesian car owners who live all over the world. If you take the time to browse every single car posted there, you will see A LOT of junk, much more junk than the gems. This site holds true for almost any car site in any country. You get thevery small community of hardcore tuners (big bucks, show cars, famous sponsors), then you get the crazy mofos with their what-the-hell-were-you-thinking rides. Trust me guys, most of the rides in Indo LOOK LIKE CRAP. I'd trade a US car scene any day for what we have here. The grass is INDEED always greener on the other side.

The 2nd site happened to be my car crews site (concept motorsport). You must understand that a couple of the guys in the crew actually run a parallel import car dealership, which is why you get to see a lot of funky cars in our lineup (like the G35s for example, there's only 2 of them in the country and BOTH are in our crew!). 

If anything, Permaisuri.com is like CL and my crew's site is like vipstylecars.com. One is run of the mill and the other is a bit more directed...diluted, but directed. :)

I would also like to point out how much money it takes to mod a car in indo, if you look at the nice cars, remember that any car with a 2.0 or larger motor is getting hit with a 300% import tax. So after your pay the cost of a small house you still have to mod it. Since the people who bring these cars over have no intention on keeping them stock they fork out whatever it takes to build what they want, but most of time the have the funds. Jtanoyo1 thanks for pointing out this fact. Most of the cars in indo have some crappy rims and an exhaust and thats all she wrote.

Worse, bro. Most of the cars here have really crappy knockoff kit with fake exhaust tips and stock suspension and rims. All the "indo style" cars that we (the indonesians) have posted here pretty much represent the top-of-the-food-chain of Indonesian car modification scene. You should not look at it and assume that that's how we do in the rest of Indonesia....
