Lowering a Previa...Teins?

Well, I want to get moving on lowering my TCR10W. Trying to stay at 1G or less, so no air for me. :(
 
Any experience with Tein Basic Wagons or Super Wagons? The spring rates seem kinda weird with the stiff rear (4k/9k), but that's not a big deal I guess. I just want to maintain a decent ride, not bouncy or feeling every bump in the road.
 
Also, any opinions on Espelir springs with some new shocks? All 3 of these options will yield a drop of approx 2 ", with the Espelirs a bit lower than the Teins. I was also looking at the Cusco Vacanzas, but if the Teins/Espelirs are pretty good, then I'll save the money.
 
Also, would I need a panhard bar/lateral rod with a 2" drop?

You can get the Cusco Vacanza coilovers from yahoo auction japan. I recommend Robert {-.-} from Luxury Bippu Style. Don't try and go to a local shop because even their US distributor has a had enough time finding it. As for the panhard bar, you'll be fine but it would definitely be better for the alignment if you had it. I mean its about $200 or less.

what will give the most drop besides air?

Coilovers specifically Cusco Vacanzas or HKS Hipermax. I don't think there are any springs made that will get you to the height you'll desire.

yeah, the Cusco Vacanzas show a drop of up to 100mm where as the Teins are 45mm and the Espelir springs are 55mm.  HKS mentions a 62mm drop, but not sure if these are Hipermax

That was my guess, no coilover will go as low or close to being air. haha...But I will most likely get coilovers since air is a bit out of my range.

what is the price range of a cusco set? guesstimate?

I am currently running the TEIN Super Wagon Coil-Over set up on my EGG.  I would highly reccomend them.  Because they have adjustable dampening you can "control" the ride quality.  You can also pick up the EDFC to adjust the "dampening" without having to get under the ride.  

I am planning on selling these once my air is complete......but I already have a buyer for my TEINs.

On YAJ, its about $1000-$1200 without shipping. HKS coils are surprisely cheaper right now at $1100 without shipping. I'd go with the HKS.

the teins does not go as low as the hks or cuscos right?

^^^^^don't know that answer to that question.  I know that for the GS JIC Coil-Overs will give you the lowest compared to TEIN stuff(from experience).  I believe that JIC also makes Coil-Overs for the EGG.  I you want to go low and if the GS JIC and the EGG JIC Coil-Overs can do the same thing......that would be the way to go.  Let's just say on my friend's GS as the show we didn't even crank the Coil-Overs all the way down and we had a really "fun" time trying to get the jack out.  LOL  Don't even get me started about trying to get that jack back in after the show to jack it back up......okay it wasn't that bad....the best solution........AIR BABY!!!

It is most definately not cheap but kind of sick in my stomach to think of the money that I could of saved if I did it "right" the first time around.  Just want to save people the heartache and learn from my lesson.  Coil-overs I think are good but compared to the adjustability at the hit of the switch....just can't compare.  Good luck with what ever Coil-Over that you go with.

I fully understand....its just I asked someone in the USA and installation cost was like as much as the kit itself...thats what scared me.

for example, the kit cost like 2000usd, you would add another $2000usd for installation? Or am I wrong?

yoshi - how would you describe the ride with these?  Can it be made almost as 'soft' as factory while at their lowest ride height setting?

So I'm ready to order coilovers if they are that much better than standard coils, and researching the options, I'm lost as to how to order since I dont read/speak Japanese and these have to be ordered from overseas, or get raped by JP here. Whats the best way to order safely? I have an importer that does work for my company, does anyone have the Cusco part numbers to make ordering easier? Specific model? Sizes? Coming from Japan I dont want a wrong part screwing everything up & doubling shipping charges!

Any opinions on this setup:

with regards to the coilover...it comes with top pillow mounts already..which is good. How much do these run for?

If I were you, I would get something that is more service friendly (ie: teins or jIc), because if the shocks blows up or whatnot, it would be a headache to send back to japan for repairs. Versus, for teins they have a repair shop in the USA.

cusco's and hks coilovers do go pretty low. have friend who have them on their xb's and man they are slammed

Or you could just go through {-.-} or jdmpalace our vendors. Their shipping price was great the last time I ordered.

Called one of our vendors @8:30 am today down in the San Diego area & still dont have an answer on whats available or how much. If any vendors here want to shoot me a price on HKS or whatever they have available in coilovers for the TCR10 I'm all ears and wallet...

cusco's go low trust me as well as hks.. and the ride is pretty damm good to for how low they go.. i have tein on my accord and they dont go low for shit until and unless u get custom springs like i did

Which vendors did you contact? Have them call me. They all have my number. I'll help them out if they're having trouble. Most US companies cannot help you with getting parts for the van. They tend to know little about the Previa which is expected. Please support our Authorized Vendors.

No offense, but if their job is selling JDM parts and they cant even call back within 72 hours I need to get them wherever I can - vendor or not. I'm a sales manager for my company & couldnt imagine ignoring a $1000+ sale for days. I'm not bashing, I'm simply stating that either someone is getting lazy or they just dont care - I specifically mentioned that I was contacting them because they were a vendor on THIS SITE and got nothing in return. As a customer I shouldnt have to jump through hoops to spend my money, they should be jumping through hoops to sell me the parts.

Ok TCR10W/TCR10G are chassis code.  TCR10W is for the Estima and TCR10G is for the Lucida. As for the HKS questions, I don't know what you mean. PM me and link me to the listing your talking about.

I am so sorry haven't been keeping up with this thread.......as for your question on page 1 LOL.....you will probally never really get "factory" ride even at the softest setting on the Tein Coil-Overs.  But the good thing about the Super Wagon Coil-Overs is that atleast you do have an option of damper settings.
