same as what's happening on acurazine forums

this guy never tells, he says he goes thru so much hassle and what not to get a perfect fitment and thererfore apparently it becomes top secret information and its not released to anyone except the buyer of his wheels...

which to me is grade-a bS, as i stated on az, its not rocket science to fit an aggressive set of wheels, if this guy doesnt wanna share info/help others in the scene thas too bad and a shame, meanwhile you can research other sites/forums/shops/vendors/manufacturers to find the aggressive specs you're looking for..

so i dunno why he never tells, but he doesnt. which is wack. but fk it some people are queer when it comes to certain things

wow that is such a clean tl
props man (-_^) d

as for not giving specs? each to there own. some people like giving out specs, some dont
I dont think it's that hard to get perfect fitting wheels with careful measurements
besides, why copy someone else's wheel spec? if someone has certain specs, dont copy, push the envelope and go more aggresive!!

the guy he gets his wheels from, riley on s2ki, is the same way. i understand because he did all the work making stuff fit, trial and error. so he doesnt want to just give out the info. riley is a distributer so he would like to sell the wheels himself.

rev01 down here runs a shop and is a distributor for work, ame, and others as well and he has no problems explaining specs, widths, offsets, tire sizes, etc... in other words helping the vip community (and car-enthusiasts in general)
my tl rocks wheels that arent the normal high-offset 7" wides too, and while they're no massive fit, i dont have a problem explaining my specs either... if it helps another person build another nice car, why not i figure

but like i said, some peeps dont see it the same way.

Secret offsets are lame.

Some business owners and companies like to keep them a secret because they feel it gives them a competitive advantage.

Iforged and HRE are famous for this.

Use different disk faces with semi aggressive offset and you'll get that type of lip on a fwd car. That is my guess anyhow!

Don't have any pics but I can say this. Different disk faces add or subtract to lip. Which also add space for the brakes. You see guys running different faces with same or slight difference in widths to give an illusion of staggered wheels. Ask the original poster to post his old setup with the work euroline dh and you'll see what I mean. Another example is a member on here with his es300 with max lip on a 19x9 size. For front wheel drive its trial and error though due to not many pushing the envelope on different fwd models. Hope this helps you guys.

aggressive fit best created thru a mixture of width, offset, disc size (hi disc vs. low)

for instance also my friend runs 16x8 +25 front and 16x8 +15 rears, rear appears wider but really its not (on mk3 golf) not sure what he did w/ the disc tho

100% agree w/ ame vip's comment also

i am so tired of u responding on my threads. i dont share offsets on aggressive fitments. i tell them to the buyer of the wheels and exactly how to make them work. if you can just call a vendor or manufacturer and get my specs, than do so and stop crying. do you think any vendor can look at pictures of my car and tell you what they are?? call work japan and see what they tell you. the past couple sets of works i have had are off calculations based on my safer fitting wheels. when u shell out 2500$ on wheels and wait 2 months to get them and not even knowing if there going to fit right. then once they do, go tell everybody what they are so they can do the same thing. then i will listen to something u have to say in regard to me sharing my offsets.

to everyone else, thank you very much for the comments. i appreciate them. i will hopefully be posting some hdr pictures up soon when i do a shoot with the rijo g35. thanks again:smiley:

riley got a g35 now? did he go with works? i know him from s2k. i was going to purchase a set of 19" vskf's for my girls car but she didnt want to camber or roll the fenders, so whats the point of buying dope wheels if she wants a safe setup. and on an s2k safe fits are pretty weak. i understand the secrecy of fitments. because of this he has sold mad wheels for certain cars. this forum just happens to be one where wheel offsets, faces, and disks is the most important thing, so many are becoming very educated on the subject.

im pretty sure you can understand that they would like to make sure their wheels fit. yes it takes those to take a risk and just purchase without knowing, but most would like to be sure.

i can completely understand people wanting to learn about fitments and offsets etc. but im tired of his comments in my threads saying the same thing about me not telling my sizing all the time. it gets old and i could really care less what some guy thinks about my reasoning on the internet.

riley did get a g35 which currently has autocouture wheels on it but he has some works coming within the month that he will be putting on. if any of you care to see or havnt seen his g35 here it is:

ya im not sure how accurate that statement was because rev has been doing aggresive fitments and does them great. i dont know rev personally just from the boards but i cant recall him giving out his offsets when people ask. and i cant remember people giving him shit about it ether. maybe thats jsut me. also about those pictures, you have to note that all those cars are on air which is different then running coilovers IMO as far as fitments go.

air is a lil easier on fitments, however... tein replacement coils are an alternative to get real low.. you prolly have em..

yo riley i still may swoop up on a set of the vskf's for my ladies ride. my car is running modded fenders and mad camber, so she doesnt think its that bad anymore. i'm still not sure about the size though. if i can find a clean kit i'll go 19, but no kit i'll get 18.

Both guys are awsome. I believe REV did give out some of his set ups. If you search on a-zine he has a list of what he did in the past. I remember cause when i did a search he listed like 7 or 8 set ups he ran. Majority all the set ups required to have a rolled lip in the rear. I like everyones set ups.

I wish i could run them on my TL but vegas roads will eat thoughs wheels for breakfast!!! i could never run a streched 215 on a 8.5 or 9 in wheel. with the metal plates here one hit and bam we have a bend haha. i already bent my 19s with 35 series. haha. but yeah JT, i love your wheels man. I wish i could afford them. good choice as always.

lol i aint crying about shit, i dunno why you think it's so hard to make a set of wheels fit on a car. a lotta peeps go thru trial and error, i dunno why you think your setup is always so special that it should remain a secret. if you're tired of my response dont read it when you see my post, it's that simple. the way i see it, there's people who look up to you and your bravery regarding making aggressive fitments work on cars that dont usually see such a setup, they're lookin to you for help and you're too much of a bitch to share the simplest of information. its not like everyone in the world wants F2S's in the same exact size as you. i dont see whats so hard about helping other enthusiasts out, that's all. your keeping sizes and shit secret 'cause you think you worked so hard is lame, tha's all. car looks good dude, and like i said if you wanna keep shit like that a secret, that aint my deal. i still think it's wack though. period.

rev's got a list of the past several setups on a-zine in the wheel/tire forum.

rijo guys you got what im sayin' wrong. i didnt say the cars look like shit, nor did i say you arent showing that aggressive fits work on our cars. all im saying is when theres people who look up to you, in a way, and are looking for answers, you could at least help em out a bit. but hell if you dont wanna, thas not my call.

i could guess and guess the exact specs of the f2s's but that's not the point. dont make like it requires a phD though. i could take the specs of a set of rev's previous wheels, drop the offset, bump up the widths by a li'l here and there and wowwee, an aggressive fitting set. big deal. perhaps 'cause i've seen a bunch of his setups in person i can toy with the numbers more, if i wanted to? i dunno maybe.

i never downed you guys for making the wheels work, keep that in mind.

p.s. brandon's black tl from down here = :werd:

:werd: def doesnt require a PhD, like i said earlier, if you know anything bout wheels and the 2g TL, youll def have a good idea of what this dudes specs are... Im gonna have to say hes prolly running around 19x8.5 up front et43. 19x9.5 rear et 42-45, low disk... On air you can run 19x9 19x10 on the TL no probs...

is harder to see the size of lip when you put so much cash on the lip. just one is enough, and please turn it the other way.

if its not so hard, go out and "guess" yourself what the fitment is... pay for the wheels in full and then pray when they come they fit... ;-) im the only guy who does these fitments for the TL so search all you want you'll NEVER find the fitments on this car regardless of who you call.

after contemplating new wheels and thinking about numbers, i guess 19x9 +43 super low disc front, 19x9 +30 super low disc rear

close?

whoa?

guess i made a pretty good guess?

just been studying numbers off the internet lately w/ other companies besides work japan....

cmon if 19x10 can fit under a 2gTL's almoststock fenders (not counting rolling) then why not 19x9 with some lower offsets?

once again, just a guess. but hell what do i know, i'll NEVER figure it out exactly now, will i?

4 inch drop
19x9 -4mm and a 10mm spacer. vs-xx work.

Getting ready to swap the barrels with -27mm or -32mm offsets. No wide body nonsence or altered body lines besides the aerokit.
