Fabulous Various GS350 [img]http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/9893/fabis3eg.jpg[/img] Been out for a while, was at the TAS if I'm not mistaken. I will admit it is much sportier looking than the one you posted. In fact I prefer yours to the Fab one, but imo the wheels are 1" too much.
Look at the T's project car then look at the fabulous car. One has presence, the other does not. There is a reason that I said that this was the first VIP 3rd gen I have seen. Fab, Wald, Rando, etc have all effed it up. Although the prussian blue one isnt bad, its still lacking the presence and stance to achieve a vip look.

But, looking at the other cars, they all look pretty much the same to me besides the wheels, since they only have tiny lip kits anyways Actually, I'm feeling pretty "meh" about the new GS in general. I do still like that T's Project car, and the Fab, Wald, and Rando ones too. But I loathe the new Prussian Blue wheels.

I have seen photo's of the Rando, Prussian Blue, Wald, Junction Produce, etc 3rd Gen GS's, but none of them have been able to pull of a VIP style. This car did though. Wheels, stance, and other pieces together. I dont know why some one posted the Fabulous and Rando kit in this thread. The Fab GS and the Rando GS belong on ClubLexus, not here :uglystupid2:
Its awesome how just wheels can make or break the "presence" of car. :)

These companies have been in the VIP business for a long time. What some here in the US consider "the" VIP styling is "old" in Japan and is actually played out.....welcome to the 90's. The trend in Japan is now what they call "simple style" that includes more subdued kits, flat face wheels, and a simpler design. The bold kits and big lips are in the past over in Japan and companies like JP are having trouble selling these kits over there....thusly they came out with new kits and new wheel designs. So, are we in the US behind the times, or are the Japanese....or are we just in different stages of a continuously changing market.
True that....I don't think it's a coincidence that we've been seeing more simple lip kits and flat faced wheels on the newer cars... The differences between all the posted GSs are so tiny though...a little trim here and there, and different wheels. The Fab has maybe .5" less drop and the Rando maybe a bit taller but it's just a wheel game at this point... sounds like............DUB.

[/quote] Mark, a few points if I may: 1) The T's Project car does have a more subdued kit, nice lips but not super aggressive, etc. 2) Most people who are familiar with VIP cars can look at a car and tell if it has that feel- Take a look at the Fabulous car then look at the T's Project car and tell me which car looks VIP 3) Just becuase something is built by a VIPcar company does not mean its VIP. If we hold your statement that these people have been doing VIP for years and they know whats VIP, then I guess the 350Z, S2000, RX-8 among other cars are new VIPcars? (lets just look at Fabulous here for a second and leave all the other cars that Wald modifies out of this) Im going to say no. These companies are trying to make a buck, thats fine, they do not DEFINE what is VIP though. The definition and changing of trends are set by the clubs. They are the ones modifying the cars, and with as much time as spend visiting different club websites and looking at the major meets, Im still not seeing any of these 'sporty' styled wanna'be vip rides. While they were at one time the leading vip aero guys, and the aero parts to have, new companies are coming out and setting the bar higher. While JP sells out and hopes to increase sales by looking more generic, Im going to stick with the cars that attempt to convey a real sense individualnes (sp?), cars that represents the builders intensions and personal styling.

I dont claim to be some expert, but I do feel like I have a pretty good grasp on it. Here, Im done putting down your car though- I will put down this new Dub influenced VIPstyle that some of these companies are trying to popularize.
not to sound like a dick but, i thought we already established a vip 3rd gen gs? t's has had that car out since the release date of the vehicle itself....

I know I'm nowhere near to an expert on Vip, I'm merely a fan, but I can't help but take some offence to you using the fact that he doesn't have a Vip platform to sort of say he has no right to be talking about it. I've already taken a lot of negativity for even being here with an econobox like mine, but despite my choice of car, I can still learn and appreciate Vip, and have worthwhile opinions. So, just because YakuzaSoarer doesn't own a Vip car, really shouldn't imply that he doesn't know what he's talking about because I know he's been around here for quite sometime and is a knowledgeable guy. [/quote] i dont think he meant that because u dont have a VIPcar you cant be about it, but more along the lines of if you dont have one then don't go criticizing other people who do. i've seen mark's car in person and it is flawless and def has a nice "vip presence". sure, it may have taken some trial and error to get it there, but that goes with the lifestyle. if something doesnt work for the car, change it until it does! haha.

There is no right or wrong answer... unless it's not the truth from your inner gut. But one does get the impression that the direction of your M is dictated more by others than yourself... then again, nothing wrong with that, as it's expected of a "sponsored" car of any sort. But as long as you can realize and acknowledge that, then it all makes sense...

One of prices you pay as a sponsored vehicle is that to a certain extent, you lose the option to select the products/sizes/styles you personally want. For this reason, many are unwilling to seek sponsorships. I look at it from a different angle....I'm not so interested in obtaining free parts. I would rather gain the trust and respect from the manufacturers and assist them in the marketing of their products and services. If this includes not "getting exactly what I want", then so be it....it's part of the process.
