Does anyone run CO2 for their air suspension instead of compressors?
I have access to a lot of CO2 tanks and I'm wondering if they work well.

i never heard of people using CO2. most people use tanks full of nitrogen. in some cases they use helium. but they only use those if they wanna hop, they push upwards to 500-600psi. thats over kill for VIP...
we should be fine with 5 gallon tank and a really good compressor(s). plus too i dont see many VIP guys running 1/2" lines to 1/2" valves with 200psi. thats just too fast. just my opinion....

yeah, my friends run nitrogen set ups that push 200-250 psi...but they're all on B2200's, hardbody's and toyota pickups...

Is it possible for the pressure to be regulated to run lower PSI? I guess if I want something slow I should just use a compressor, right?

normally, most guys that just got bags to go up and down have a 110psi on, 145psi off pressure switch. if you want your car to go up and down slowly you dont have to lower the pressure in your tank, lowering the pressure in your tank will cause you to run out of air really fast, and you wont have enough pressure in the tank to lift your car. if you want it slow, just run smaller air lines, and smaller diameter valves. id recommend 3/8" lines and 1/4" valves. 3/8" lines to provide enough air pressure/flow to the valve.
what do you plan on doing with your set up? front and back? or front, back, side to side? that factors in as well. individual valves, or a valve block plays a roll too. if you have a big valves block like this...

some guys run ONE air supply air line to this block. now you have 1 air line, from the tank, to this block to supply air to each air bag (4). that one air line can only flow so much air and itll be very low inflating...
basically its how you want to build your set up.

I am however in the Navy and I work on Helo's, and the military uses nitrogen in the tires because it keeps the moisture out, so that would be one thing to consider? One downfall would be tank size, I know mini truckers use larger tanks so they don't have to fill them as often, and with that said you would want to consider if have the space to house that large of a tank. Other than that I would have to agree with Mista808 by just using an air tank and a compressor(s).

In my mind it seemed to be easier to use CO2 or N tanks but it looks like a compressor and air tank is the best way to go. Thanks guys, I'll keep researching and one of these days I'll be on air too.

well the nitrogen tanks don't last that long...a whole big tank (forgot how many gallons...40 maybe?) only lasts about 4 seconds...BUT, it can fully inflate and deflate in fraction of a second...depends on frequency of use really...

heres your basic plumbing of your air management.

you can see that each set of valves has an air line coming straight from the tank...
heres what you should consider. if space is what your are concerned about, they got these on the market. its a pancake style air tank. it goes where your spare tire is. its i think about a 4 gal tank. its out of view, and it holds about enough air to get your car aired up, and rolling. not too good for showing off. to give you an idea, i'd be able to get your whole car up maybe 2 times before your compressor goes off depending on your pressure switch.
consider running 2 compressors instead of 1. if you can make your compressors fill up your tank faster than what your bag can use air, you'll be fine. you wont run out of air any time soon, BUT itll drain your battery.
