***Custom Air/coilover setup Completed***

hey guys,

thanks to all the locals for your help. this system complete with 7 weeks of usage. Fine tuning is next along with dakota goodies. Poyet, i may need those air reducer fittings soon.

My impression after 1 week and 700 miles:
Car drives very well. With the adjustable CST dampening struts, it actually feels like my old HKS. The CST struts are 2 inches shorter than the HKS, so suspension travel is less. The front went on without any issues. The rears were confussing b/c of the upsidedown setup, etc. There is a noticable "clunking" in the rear passenger side. Sounds like a loose bolt. Checked everything, reinstalled several times, no resolve. (Poyet.. alittle help. =D) Other side, no noise at all. The car feels nothing close to soft or floaty. The combo works every well together. I give the UAS bags a solid 9 out of 10.

Tank, compressors:
The system came with 2 compressors and a 5 gallon tank. Install was very smooth. Compressors are louder than hoped. But it has to do with the solid steel brackets it sits on. I will replace the brackets with a wood version to help dampen the noise and vibration. Compressors kick on fairly quickly. The pressure switch provided is a 200 psi stop and 165 psi to turn on. I would say, it kicks on after twice all the way up and down. Overall no issues here.

Valves/switches/lines:
1/2 lines are very fast. Up is incredible. I guess thats good and bad. If you see a bump or a pot hole approaching, the faster up can be beneficial. But I must agree, i feel lowRider with the fast setup. And Poyet is gonna make fun of my hoping Altezza. =P The valves are all brass. Rear valves were mounted behind rear bumper. Front valves underneath car. No issues or leaks after a week. The standard switch box that came with the system is a 9 button chrome box that fits nicely in your hand. Since I plan on going digital, this controller will be replaced. But for now, it works just fine.

Overall Impression of UAS system:
Very good. So far im happy with the service and the quality of the product. FYI, UAS supply their bags for Fabulous and Job Design.

So with the system working, I am now able to fine tune the setup. The rear could go way lower. B/C of the shorter strut and the set length of the spacer, that is the lowest the rears can go. The spacer has to push the bag 7.5 inches down to clear from any rubbing issues. if not the bag will rub the chassis and soon pop. the only possible solution is to section out more of the last lower nut that threads into the shock and bolts into the lower control arm. That will be the next step to slamming the car lower.

buddy is a CST dealer.  came with SWIFT springs. =)

im so glad to see you finally posted this up on here. i will be running a simular setup with silkroad coilovers. you setup is bad arse! post those pics of the actual coilovers with the bags on them.

UAS bags have 5.5 inches of total adjustments. pretty cool.

silkroad is awesome
a relatively unknown in the states, but fucking outstanding ride quality
i had them on my stagea and i loved every minute of them

Very nice. Im looking into this kit right now. I was hoping they would fit over my Tien SS so I would have to buy new struts.

so long as the outside diameter thread of the Tein SS is less than 2.1" inches, the UAS bags will sleeve over withouth any issues.

im sure you can buy the calipers and have a machine shop make the brackets for you. many custom apps are done this way.

UPDATE:

just ordered 1/2" to 1/4" reducers and 1/4" mufflers. This should slow down the drop-speed when I hit the switches. Up-speed is determined by the thickness of the lines.

also need to determind to go digital or just buy some gauges. Does anybody have experience with EFI or VIAIR gauges? Good, no good..?

Dakota Digital or AirRide Tech RidePro e2. I never really liked how the Easy Street setup looked.

THERE Might be an easier way to slow down how fast you go up and down.. 

i work with lots of air brks and air operated stuffs. and used to do hydrulics in cars..

has anyone tried using a needle valve.. just use one on the outlet of you valve that is used to go up and one needle vavle on the valve that releases the air where it vents out.. that way you can really fine tune how fast you want to go..

1/4" Inch will be really slow but good for fine adjusting.....I have the half inch mufflers and I think they're the perfect speed....it doesn't hit hard when I pancake.

yes you are right. Needle valves can slow the air up speed and down speed. in fact that would be my next venture after the 1/4 mufflers go in. to be honest, im not looking for slow airrrunner speeds. up speed abit faster than down speed is what i am shooting for.

yes

i always liked 1/2" lift/ 1/4" dump. down slow for effect, up fast for road hazards

I remember this ride...used to roll with Hokori or hang around john and crew...
 
The ride pro e autoleveling kit is way over priced.  I'd do the dakota digital.  I'm running ride pro e on my 39 chevy

Nice setup.  Luving the look and the stance.  Cant wait for my car to drop and hop like that.
